    Great all around glass!

I have those and do find that they work well for everything, including big stouts. What goes against it, imo, is the size, plus it's a pain to get the bottom really clean.

When it comes to high gravity stouts my preferred glass is the Gulden Draak tulip glass (photo above).

As regards low/moderate gravity stout/porter beers I prefer to use my can shaped glass.

    Cheers!

My 2 most often used glasses are the 16oz Tumbler and the stemmed glass shown in the original post. I've given about all of the others away.

I seem to reach for the Teku most of the time. I also like the Spiegelau American Wheat for Wheat beers (go figure), and the Riedel Weissbier glass.

I find my Simon Pearce Essex tulip to be very versatile, owing to the thick glass and incredible capacity. I used to favor a 14oz Snörkel snulip but found I was drinking more and more larger cans. This monster will (just barely) hold a stovepipe can, or most of a bomber. Normally pricey, but I got a 2 for 1 deal on a pair of them on Ebay. I'm watching for a deal on one of the equally humongous Simon Pearce stout glasses.

I have some sweet Waterford brandy snifters when I'm feeling fancy, but honestly they're brutally expensive and I'm always afraid I'm going to break one. So day in and day out, my go to is a Stanley pint cup. It's got that bitchen green enameled stainless steel thing going, like their thermoses. I'm confident enough to say I'm in love with it. Just don't tell my wife.

Nonics and wilibecker glasses are best if I were to bring it down to 2 glasses.

I've always been a big fan of the Teku, which is basically a Tulip, just more aesthetically pleasing in my personal opinion. Great all-round glass that I use for everything except German and British beers, for which I got a Bavarian Seidel and Nonic Pint. If I drank Belgian brews more regularly, I'd probably invest into a chalice as well.

Too bad I just managed to break my favorite Teku while polishing it today, the damn thing was just too thin and is quite irreplaceable to me. Guess I'll just have to get a generic one that is a little thicker, but damn, I will miss that glass.

I've switched over to this one for now, but I'm not really a huge fan of it because it's a bitch to clean and not really great for aromatics.

Tulip glass and SA pint serve most of my needs.

You can order online. $9.95 is well worth it IMO.

    Cheers!

P.S. I purchased mine at the store nearby (which needless to say is closed right now).

My fave is the tulip. It accommodates nearly any style, IMO, and is best for the DIPAs, Imp stouts, and others. Hell, drinking a Coors light from a tulip is better than drinking a Yeti from a shaker! (If you can stand the Coors light.)

The first beer glasses I ever owned was a four pack of Guinness branded imperial tulip pints my wife bought me as a gift. They are indeed very versatile and for years they were the only beer glasses I owned. Still have 3 of the 4--one got knocked off a counter after years of faithful service. Indeed I still use them a lot even though I have lots of options now. However if someone held a gun to my head and I had to get rid of all my glasses but one, I'd keep my large Duvel tulip shifter. It's great for everything and definitely the most versatile glass I have. The wife found that one for me as well, at a thrift store, for $1. Best dollar ever spent.

Of the many different glasses I've tried I've found that the Libbey 8551 brings out the best in just about every beer. It's the perfect size (10.5oz) and shape for head retention, aroma, temperature control.

For something a little larger I would say the Libbey Munique style is also great. The Fizzazz version even has etching inside.
