Did not see a thread started for 2020 so decided to start one. Being in Delaware County, Pa but family in Lewisburg, I’m just just starting to try things from New Trail...But super impressed. Tonight I had Broken Heels and Glactic Broken Heels. Both were outstanding.

Only complaint is why are there no dates on the cans?!

not only is there no dates on the cans, there is no ABV%, anywhere. not even on their website or social posts to promote the products.

when questioned about it on social media their excuse was that they print the labels before measuring the final gravity, and that they are not required to give this information by federal law.

i tried a few of their sours and ipas, and while good, i stopped purchasing their products because they can't be bothered to inform the customer of how much alcohol is contained within their actual product, let alone stamp a canning on the bottom of the cans. most of their stuff just collects dust on the shelves by me because people are sick and tired of their consumer deceit.

Interesting... I did notice their website contains little information including beers, availability, hops used...etc...

But man what I’ve had has been so damn good

That’s unfortunate. I had been wanting to stop there but, I like to have 2-3 beers over the course of a couple hours and something to eat. I stay away from anything over about 7-8%. Its just my rule of thumb regarding BAC. If I don’t know what I’m drinking, I guess I won’t be.

Love their beers (probably my favorite right now), but ya they don't communicate very well. They seem to be doing very well, so obviously that doesn't matter.

Um, I just bought a 4-pack of Broken Heels today, and it clearly says "7% ABV" and "Citra, Mosaic, Ekuanot". I also bought a 4-pack of Day Pack, which has "5.7% ABV" prominently displayed on the can. (I'd post a picture but frankly that's too much of a pain.) Maybe they got the message.
I'll agree on the lack of a date, though. And the quality of the product. NT makes some damn fine beer.

Interesting I’ll have to check next time I’m at store - I literally had a 4-pack of broken heels last week that had no abv or hops listed. Would be great if they’ve changed that. Now just need dates

this just tells me they dint make a consistent product. Every brewery literally has the same ABV for any IPA. Or at least gets close to it

It’s a help to me at least that a photo of the taproom chalkboard on FB has ABV for each beer. But it remains that dates and ABV on packages are almost a given these days.

Told me their date coder went down. That was last Summer . . .

Toward the end of last month NT started re-packaging "Broken Heels". Therefore, both labels, are on the shelves. The new label, only, has ABV and hops.

Hmm! That may have been on purpose. Back when NT dated their cans, (bottom of can), most dates were totally unreadable.

I'd be surprised if they don't catch up to the labeling complaints. Being in Lewisburg, about 30 minutes south, it is so nice to have a top notch brewery with their capacity nearby. We have some other good brewers - Old Forge, Selinsgrove, Elk Creek, etc. nearby, but New Trail's NEIPAs in particular are a real treat!

With the change to the Broken Heels labeling, it now has the ABV on it.

according to a recent post of theirs on social media, Broken Heels gets the ABV% printed on the label because of its wider distribution and larger volume of sales.

all other products brewed and sold by New Trail still will not have the ABV% printed on labels or posted on their website. Same for canning dates.

their excuse for hiding this information is one of the lamest I think I’ve ever heard too.

I just don’t understand why they are so intent on hiding it from the consumer.

It’s laziness and being cheap probably. Every other brewery is able to provide all that infix

Also tells me their product is not consistent enough to where they can dial in the ABV over and over again

I hate the ABV/date thing too, but their beer is by far the best locally for the price IMO.

All of their beers, but one, have been fantastic. Road Trip was pretty bad.

You definitely need to try Galactic Broken Heels then.

Haven't been to York in a while (it's for work) but I will definitely keep that in mind. There is a store core Valley Green beverage off of 83, and they have a ridiculous selection of beer from all over the place.
