Not trying to step on any toes but in these strange times I like to feel helpful:

Today, we have 2 great IPAs. Open from noon-8pm. Social distancing please! ⠀
    --⠀
Triple Mylar Daydream Imperial Oat Cream IPA (11.3%) One of our most comforting IPAs. Our Daydream treatment of oats and lactose sugar with Amarillo, Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado, and Galaxy. $22 per 4 pack. ⠀
    ⠀
DDH Forever Ever (4.8%) Session IPA hopped with Azacca, Citra, Mosaic, and Amarillo, and then hit again with Galaxy. Light, bright, and straight crushable. $16 a four pack

I went to Mekelberg's this morning to pick up some Babka and Other Half cans, and they also have bottles of Hudson Valley Valley Beer, Bespoke and Eveningland cans.

If anyone picked up Mylar Arches share your thoughts! I'm def interested and would normally wait for it on tap or split a 4/pk but "social distancing".

If you're in Brooklyn, it looks like Hops Hill just got cans in, they might be selling individual cans.

Is this going to single handedly ruin the chances for beating last years page total?

Thanks @NewmansOwn! I haven't been to Hops Hill in a while and if the weather were nicer would def bike over. Planning to grab the 4pk tonight and relocate some stouts outside the mini-fridge for the time being. Behavioral change is hard, but necessary in these times!

I enjoyed it. I can't think of anything that makes it distinctly different from their other ~8-9% IPAs, but it's nice.

Space Diamonds, however, is slightly below average this time around. The finish is pretty earthy/grassy on this batch. Not a drain-pour by any stretch of the imagination, but definitely not the "wow" beer it can be when it's on point.

Whats going on there? Maybe its my myopic view because I don't drink everything they make, but last batches of ACE, Mylar and SD (last and apparently newer one) are subpar. I love Mylar and had to drain pour 3/4s of the can.

Sounds like I will be getting Forever Simcoe if I can make it happen

Prominent Cashmere notes in Mylar Arch. I think it'll taste better later as these hops meld.

I personally loved Mylar arches. I also loved far out or whatever. My tastes seem to be the opposite of everyone’s

What’s the hierarchy of the current lineup? Triple creme up to its usual goodness at least?

@fdonnelly I got a second 4pk of Simcoe I'm so down with it. Now that's less exceptional given the current state of affairs- I'm a hoe with beer and rarely want more than a night or two in a row which is easy with so many great beer bars nearby.

@MattInBklyn I will share Triple Cream thoughts tomorrow (I also generally consider it one of their better TIPA's).

    thanks!

I always considered FS middle tier OH. And had the “bad batch,” which kept me away for a while. Assuming this batch is more pineapple than resin so i might give it a try. Just have trouble going with FS over SD. Doesn’t feel right. But these are tough times . . .

Is there anyone who regularly picks up Other Half cans and is interested in working out an arrangement to buy extra and ship to me? Willing to pay for the luxury. PM me if interested

Cracked open a bottle of BA Snowbirds 3 VIP last night and about two thirds of it went down the drain. Absolutely too sweet to drink more than a couple ounces. Tasted muddled and I didn't get any banana or barrel flavor at all. Kinda hesitant to open the non-VIP version, may just trade it away.

Maybe it's the Irish in me...

How are you people dumping beer? Especially when it feels like food stuffs should not be wasted bc of the current crisis.

I echo that Space Diamonds is green should be better in a few weeks, the last batch came out during the first week of December and I really enjoyed it over the Xmas break.

Yeah I love DDH Space Diamonds, but I think the first OH beer I really went HOLY CRAP for was DDH Forever Simcoe. If someone were to ask me my fav hop, my first thought is always Galaxy, but when Simcoe is ON, its insane. I do really like Motueka, shit maybe i have a love for the southern hemisphere hops? I always love beers that put those front and center.

Also Burial is doing national shipping of their beer. I misread the post yesterday afternoon until my buddy down there who I swap with sent me a txt. I ordered some stuff to test it out. Shipping is super reasonable, and you can directly tip the staff and workers who are getting less work during this time. Its really a wild time to be alive right now.

I am REALLY hoping more breweries are gonna be able to nationally ship.
