No Second Fiddle is not a double version of Fiddlehead IPA. Fiddlehead is more of a NEIPA than Second Fiddle is.

No way! I'd never heard of IPA in cans and I'm about 5 miles from the brewery. I'll be damned.

I'm not sure that's always been the case, though. When I had their IPA a few years ago it was a bit maltier and certainly bitter. It's changed a bit since then.

And I'm sure it changed a fair bit from when it was introduced to when I had it. It's not exactly a new beer.

    Either way, Second Fiddle rules.

I haven't had Second Fiddle in about 3 years so didn't want to rely on my memory. I do recall Second Fiddle as closer to a West Coast IPA style whereas I've had the regular Fiddlehead IPA fairly recently. I know what you mean by more of a NEIPA but I kind of hate that we use NEIPA to encompass a broader style than what I would think of as a true NEIPA. I think of beers like Fiddlehead and SOS as somewhere between a West Coast and a NEIPA.

Delmar (NY) beverage center- https://www.delmarbeveragecenter.com/. Small store with great selection. Always enjoy stopping in there when in the area. They had probably 6 or 7 cases of four packs on Tuesday when I was there. The guy there said they just got it- can date was 3/5/20. Not sure if it is actually being distributed or if they selling it secondary...any one else know?

First canning into distro but posts above confirm it’s been available on site at venues.

I was saying more of a NEIPA to illustrate how different it is from Second Fiddle (def not NEIPA imo)

Personally I think Second Fiddle and Sip are similar, and both are sort of in between a West Coast and a New England IPA.

Fiddlehead IPA is a New England IPA to my palate. It’s definitely a New England IPA in appearance.

I had a can of fiddlehead at house of blues Boston 6 months ago. Big upgrade from when Narragansett was the best beer option there the first couple years they were open.

nope. As has been said a number of times in this thread, it’s been in cans since at least last summer. Here’s an untappd post August. I couldn’t scroll any further back without the app crashing but this is definitively not the first canning run.

The cans hitting the shelves were packaged in February, pre-covid craziness. Craft collective just can’t sell these house of blues anymore.

The ones I picked up on North Shore yesterday were canned on 3/17. You're prob still right that they were intended for HOB.

Yeah I totally got what you meant and my comment was not meant to be negative to you. More about how we have to use "more of a NEIPA" to define a style that I don't think is really named per se. Personally I'd refer to it as an east coast IPA or maybe "north east" IPA

I’d love to see Fiddlehead IPA in cans on the regular.
Hopefully they see the market for it and put it in 16oz cans. 19oz seems a bit much, unless you are at and event where you don’t want to be hitting the beer stand too often.

Nice, and coming from a guy whose name is "dental" makes it even better! Btw, just got a 19.2 oz can to round out a liquor store online order (they had a ton of them and were trying to distribute a few...) and can't wait to try it - haven't had one in years.

Just picked up a quarter barrel keg of Fiddlehead. I've also seen Sip Of Sunshine available at times and MBC had a few kegs of Dinner early on. Lots of options that have never been available before.

Just picked up a case from Fort Point Market (curbside) for $49.
Way cheaper than most people are selling it.

Fuck. If my math is right that’s equivalent to $6.81 for a four pack of pounders.

Assuming you mean a case of 19.2 oz. cans.
