I bought their regular wcipa about 2 weeks ago (it seems ubiquitous around here) and it was one of the worst beers i've had a while. Drain poured first one. Second can was my first beer in a few days, which usually tastes great, nope, drain poured it. Still have 2 cans and will likely give them to someone or trash them.

Not really feeling this El Segundo Clear AF right now. Poured nice with a good aroma, but flavor peaks at 3.5/5 for me. It’s a bit astringent with also a tiny burn. Glad I tried it, but I’m not a big El Segundo fan (outside of Mayberry).

Having an AleSmith/Pizza Port Logical Choice now. First off, what the hell happened to AleSmith? I rarely see their beers, and I haven’t seen their IPA in forever. That being said, my first thought while drinking this beer is why I love PtY so much. Younger is just so smooth and perfect for being so big, while this one right here has a little too much gas and bite to me. It’s getting better as I drink it, but it’s not a winner.

@RaulMondesi sadly, I think Alesmith discontinued their standard IPA. I only recently learned of this, which i think it a huge letdown. I realized I had not seen it in awhile and looked at their site and it's no longer listed.

Highland Park Brewery's anniversary beer is a West Coast IPA. Can release today at noon per their IG stories.

That’s a bummer. It was a great beer. Reminds me of when Founders discontinued FIS. Now they brought it back and it’s not the same

Just got a 2 month old 6 pack of weekend vibes from Coronado. Not a world beater but at that ticket its a nice one that would be in my regular rotation if it was available to me all the time.

More importantly to me, but not to this thread, I also grabbed sub 3 month old packs of sierra Nevada stout (west coast style!) And Sierra Nevada porter!

Bought a couple cases of Stone IPA at Costco last week just in case. Decided to put a couple in the fridge last night. I totally forgot how good of an IPA that was and at almost $1/can a great deal. Won’t be bummed as I mix that into the rotation over the next few weeks/months.

Grabbed some more essentials; this new Beachwood Alpha Neo IPA is a honeydew melon /bartlet pear n liquid form, delicious! Also got more Mayberry and some Keep it Nelson from Burgeon.

How's this batch? With SIP and work travel prohibited I won't get down to Kernville area for awhile. But that's an easy 'problem' to have right now.

I never had it in its hey day, so I really can’t compare. Right now it tastes like a syrupy Maharaja. I don’t like it at all. Last batch during Thanksgiving was better, but still, it wasn’t mind losing like I want it to be.

Glad you liked the Alpha Nero - it was a drain pour for me. I can’t stand Sabro, and didn’t check the can before I bought it (generally if I see a new Beachwood offering, I buy it). To me it tastes like coconut sunscreen. Cheers.

I've never liked Alpha Neo. It has a weird taste to me. One of the few Beachwood beers I dislike
