Orange Chantilly is returning. The Open Bottle has upcoming keg sales which tips off that and a new DIPA with Strata

 

Do the normal P3 hazy IPA’s not have milk sugar? I’ve admittedly only tried a few, but have found them to be on the sweet side.

 

I want to say P3 has been pretty transparent about their use of lactose,unlike that other Brewery that puts it in all their DIPAS and fails to mention it

 

It's OK to just say Hop Butcher. Some may not know, and this is a safe space for some shit talking!

 

Speaking of lactose, why have more breweries begun to put "milk sugar" on their cans instead of "lactose"? Has it become that bad of a word that they need to use the description of it instead?

I also got really excited when I saw a new Citra DIPA this week, then really bummed when I saw it was a milkshake

 

Milk sugar is definitely the high brow version of saying lactose.

Creme reviews on Untappd have been pretty positive. Anyone here tried one yet?

 

I liked it enough to drink two cans. Really smooth and a nice Citra blast with the “milk sugar” actually being only a little noticeable, but I still think it needs a week.

 

I cant quite put my finger on it, but i get almost a chalk after taste. My tongue feels immediately dry after taking a drink of it. Its not over the top with *milk sugar*, I will say that.

 

That’s exactly what it is. Chalk or that weird aftertaste that lingers after an aspirin or vitamin.

Creme was nearly undrinkable for me. I like the initial flavor alright, but what’s the use of a beer if I enjoy the initial flavor for 2 seconds and then have an unpleasant lingering aftertaste for 15

 

I know this beer isn't, but my friends and I always liken milkshake IPAs to taking children's tylenol - almost a gritty, chalky consistency to it.

 

It might as well be a milkshake. It’s got tons of oats and some lactose as well. The appearance was WAY to murky. I knew I wasn’t going to like it just based on the appearance. I like the aroma. I liked the initial flavor. But that’s where the compliments end.

 

It seems production hasn't really changed at all since they took over the Lake Zurich Brewing space? I wonder if they are dedicating more time/effort into the space build-out. They certainly could move more beer if they produced it, but it is the usual 1-2 beer releases a week.

 

hmm i feel like there have been fewer off weeks and also attributed the extra Pixel Density drops to the increased tank space. But that’s just anecdotal/feel

 

I thought they were producing more quantity of the same batches but that was my impression two or three weeks ago before my spending / chasing habits on beer completely changed.

 

Yeah it seems to me my shop is getting much more when drops occur.

 

These last two beers had distro but also case limits if bought from the brewery. I took that as part of an uptick
