I’ve been good this week and hit one of my moderation targets...let the weekend begin - Prairie’s “Pirate Bomb”:



Bottled 7/22/19. Every bit as good as when I reviewed it on BA last September. Time has taken a little edge off of the boozy rum heat (15%), but there is still lots of spicy green chillies, rum, cocoa nibs, coffee with a touch of vanilla in the finish. Dry oaky boozy warm mouthfeel, smooth medium plus body. Glad I have more in the cellar.

This is a very complex beer. Toasty dark malts, Brett funk, and some honey sweetness. Also a high ABV. Very unique.

I have caught myself about to drop that line at the neighborhood kids, and in my head, "Oh god, I'm my f^kkin dad!?"

 

I need to mow my lawn before I can do that! I’ll get to it, not sure when!
