Technically neither is actually a style. Märzen is a strength designation. And Kellerbier/Zwickel is a beer which is neither unfiltered nor unpasteurized. It can technically be any style, although oftentimes it's a Helles.

This beer is appropriately cloudy being a part of their "Keller" Series.

In your case I'd lean towards reviewing it as a Kellerbier/Zwickel that's Märzen strength. Because otherwise you'll ding it for being cloudy. This would be an amber Kellerbier if I had to classify it as anything.

 

I agree, under the Kellerbier “style” there’s more flexibility.

We ipa fans call that "hazy". It sounds better. You'll learn.

 

Have you tried Marzen Keller? I can see why some would call it hazy and not cloudy.

 

Picked up some House Lager and Smoke and Dagger for the quarantine. Pound for pound my favorite mass brewer. Not a better quality per price in the region, maybe in the US (Sierra Nevada maybe).

Ran down there after dinner today. Ordered online, called for the contactless curb side pick up. Couldn’t have been easier, you schedule your pick up time, I was there fifteen minutes before my pick up time and only waited five minutes to get my haul. They are running a tight ship over there, well worth the trip next time . Walked out with three cases, thirteen different beers, and chicken parm for dinner tomorrow in five minutes. Bravo.

 

Snagged the barrel fermented Fire in the Ham, Excess mixed pk, and Kiwi on Wednesday curbside. Couldn't have been easier.

 

Just tried Shipping out of Boston this weekend and damn that was pretty good. That is gonna be a staple in my fridge. I hope they keep that one around for a long time.

Sounds like they are still in the process of getting the horizontals up and running. Copper Legend will be the first one going in there. I wonder what other beers they'll fill them with?
