Have a good Saturday. Been up all night again. I watched Fight Club for the first time at my buddies apartment, and it was amazing. Also some old school season 4 Family Guy for a few episodes. Was hoping to ride a trail I have only ridden once before, but the way the rain is looking out there, might be a bad idea for the integrity of the trail. Will catch up on my gaming because of the weather. Been wanting to hit up Destiny 2 again, it was amazing stuff.

Speciation Mandarax. Awesome sour. Poor head retention/minimal lacing as expected. Aromas and flavors of big tart/sour mandarin orange, lime, coconut, fruit peel, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, green apple, oak, white grape/wine, hay, straw, and grass; with some wheat/cracker malts; pepper, Brett/Lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, light body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Very lactic, tangy, tannic, and lightly grainy mouthfeel. Moderate increasing acidic/carbonatied dryness. Moderate pucker that finishes fairly clean and not overwhelming. Pretty refreshing, but definitely on the lower pH side of the other solera series that I recall. Great balanced juicy fruits and Brett/Bacteria complexity; with a solid pale/wheat malt backbone. Zero residual sweetness with crisp dryness. Another impressive one as usual. Speciation review #70 for me. 4.1

Good day BAs! Woke up two hours ago to rain trying to wash my roof away. It's subsided now. Today's New Breakfast Beer, courtesy of @WesMantooth:

[IMG] A taste of Maine and it is really good, but something about the Double Dry Hop on the first one made it taste better than this one.

Brewing Projekt Resist Double Vanilla. Wow this was amazing. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, coconut, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, pepper, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; very creamy/silky/bready malts and some sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness; no hop astringency. Very smooth/soft; minimal warming 7%, or lingering hop burn after the finish. Amazing Citra/Mosaic profile as expected. Super juicy, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with an awesome vanilla, lactose, and wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Definitely one of the best milkshake IPA I've had, like a tropical fruit smoothie with vanilla in it. 4.35

Damn I forgot about this song. Probably not heard it since the early 2000s.

This one was a little disappointing. Very thing and tan colored for a barrel aged stout with cherries added.

The Cherry Stout may be the least impressive of the regular Brewer’s Reserve series. Cheers!

Closing out Oberon Release Week. A benefit of living close to Kalamazoo is the local donut shop (Sweetwaters to give them a plug) that makes an Oberon donut to help celebrate the release.

Oberon is the same great taste every year so I don't feel a need to describe it. The wheat beer and the (presumably) wheat flour that is used in the donut make this a breakfast of champions just like eating Wheaties. (Kind of.)
