[IMG] This is a little brewery up in Maine many have not heard of and they brew some killer stuff and often use some lactose. I have bunch of New Beers for NBS. It is a rainy day so let’s sip some beers. Cheers all.

Have a good Sunday. Was hoping to get some trail riding in today, but after heavy rains I will have to check trail conditions online first. We are still early in the season as well, so most stuff has not initially dried up after the winter thaw. I have my computer hooked to my TV as a second monitor again, so I am going to play some Gamecube games today for sure. Microsoft finally released an update last night that fixed a USB power down issue on startup that was annoying me for a few weeks. The keyboard and mouse would not work unless every other USB device was unplugged.

Epic Big Bad Baptist - Quintuple Barrel. Fantastic as expected. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, coconut, whiskey, brandy, oak, toasted almonds, biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of molasses, fudge, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, roast, charred bitterness; and whiskey/brandy/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full body; very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety/bready, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky/tannic mouthfeel. Lightly increasing increasing bitter/tannic dryness; no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors. Dangerously smooth/soft. Mild increasing warmth of 11.8%, and lingering barrel booze after the finish. Fantastic balanced super rich malts, cocoa, coffee, coconut, almond, caramel, and whiskey/brandy barrel presence/integration. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. The salt enhanced the flavors instead of providing salinity as expected. Unique to the other multi barrels in the series as it used Brandy instead of rum, but still a worthwhile effort. Double/Triple/Quad were definitely far better. Would have liked to see additional actual barrels instead of barrel aged flavorings. 4.28

[IMG] This rotating hop serious, is different but in a good way. 7.1% and really nice. Sabro is one of those hops that you like or hate, I get garlic and onion sometimes, like Gubna or if brewed with another hop or in this case 5 hops the coconut. This time both come out.

It rained all day yesterday but today it looks like we are going to get some sun. Not picky about it. I lived in Scotland for years and had no problem with the weather.

This is Equilibrium The Middletown Project DIPA. All of EQ's beers have this signature peach-juice essence to them, which makes them perfect for breakfast. The mouthfeel is super thick, with hardly any carbonation, a very hoppy aroma but with a sweet, fruity, taste. A very nice beer but if you are seeking a hoppy bitterness of any kind you won't find it here. Yet, I'd buy this anyday.

Gun Hill / Lock City - Locked & Loaded. First review. This batch was recalled from exploding cans, but I salvaged one from my Tavour box. Other one blew up. Took my time to pour this one. Excellent NEDIPA. Lasting fluffy head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light honey/toasted malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready/grainy malts, and some sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Dangerously smooth/soft, minimal warming 9.1%. Awesome Citra, Galaxy, Simcoe, and Mosaic profile. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. No complaints! Definitely not infected, but needed some time to degas itself. Worth the wait. 4.03
