Lagunitas Phase Change IPA, 7.4% ABV. Pours orange with a 1.5 finger white head that left solid foamy lacing. Nose is grassy fruit, taste follows, plus light onion, no sweetness and not much bitterness, can really taste the grassiness, think it's Kentucky Bluegrass but could be Fescue - always get those mixed up. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent. Truly a lawnmower beer.

Weather went to hell here, was in the mid-70's yesterday, and now it's in the upper 20's with freezing rain. I have one more new-to-me-beer for NBS, so I'll have to get out and pick up some new brews for the next NBT. Luckily liquor stores are deemed essential.

Basement was my introduction to Scofflaw. It is a wonderful IPA, so when I saw Hooligan in Box #2, I danced a bit.

It was an ugly dance, because I am old and have no rhythm, but I danced nonetheless.

My new beer today is SPON from Jester King. This bottle is from August of 2018. Pours a gorgeous dark red with quickly dissipating head. The nose is freaking incredible. Citrus peel, grass, wheat, funk, and some orange creamsicle. The taste is awesome. A tad sour and funky. Lemon, orange, grass, red grapes, cream, and some vanilla. Overall, this is amazing.

GF got this six-pack a couple weeks ago, maybe. One left over that had some floaties included:

Nose is slightly fruity, but with a woodiness as well. Little bland tropical fruit and some nutty woodiness as well. Didn’t look at the bill, but wouldn’t be surprised if there was Montueka (or not  ). An ok tropical-leaning pale ale with a hint of back end bitterness.

Great balance of piney bitterness and some fruity-honey sweetness. Takes me back! Thanks again, @Mbgreg. :beers:

I'm having a Deep River Carpetbagger Imperial IPA.
It's a double boil hopped, triple dry hopped Total Hop Bomb.
At 9.7 ABV you really can't taste the alcohol. It'd be tempting to session this little Beauty, as it's just so damn tasty.
Beer Karma, I'm in the Deep River Brewery one weekend, I meet a couple of guys and we have a chat, I love talking beer with people. Dieter, tells me, make sure you drink this beer. Him and his friend leave, but on the way out, he gives me this can if awesome goodness. Cheers Dieter! Hopefully our paths will cross again.

This came in my Tavour crate today. First time trying this brewery. And I must say, I like the 750ml cans. Milky yellow pour, pretty thick head eventually subsides. Nice citrusy aroma, more on the grapefruit spectrum. Taste brings more citrus, very juicy, very smooth. Not too much difference from other beers in this style, but pretty tasty nonetheless.

    Happy NBT!

This is my first NBT, glad to be here. Always a joy to have something from this brewery, and especially this series, top notch shit.

Picked up four bombers from a local brewery that had previously only done growlers & draft pours. This is the only one that wasn't already entered in the database here on BA.

Cocoa Motion by Myriad Brewing Company in Evansville, IN. Here's my review:
22oz bottle purchased at the brewery 3/31/20 (released on the 25th) poured into a tulip pint glass at fridge temp 6.5% ABV. The beer pours dark brown with mahogany highlights and light brown head. The head recedes to a thin ring and island. The aroma is faint with dark cocoa powder and dark roasted malt. The taste is bittersweet cocoa up front with mildly ashy roasted malt coming up mid palate. The finish is earthy and toasty with mild bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium to thin bodied with average carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, good. Nothing earth shattering, but a pleasant, easy drinker that's true to style.

    Hello New Brew Thursday!!!

I'll jump right to the chase, and show you my new beer.
From Pantown Brewing Lucky's Lime Kettle Sour. 3.9%ABV.

I love limes, and this is a damn good use of limes in a kettle sour. I could see myself just pounding the crap out of them on a hot, sunny summer day grilling.

    Damn good.

    3.81/5 rDev 0%
    look: 4 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

Pours a nice shade of green. 3 finger greenish/white head. Head retention is quite good. Some nice lacing on the glass.
The nose is mostly sour, with just a faint hint of lime. Was hoping for more.
Taste - Now, there's a lot more lime in the taste than the nose let on. A nice sour/tart lime flavor. Not artificial at all.
There's a lot of carbonation that is really tickling my throat. The tartness from the lime really lingers for a while in my throat.
Tasty and refreshing. it would be perfect to pound on a hot summer day.

One and done tonight. See you all next week. Cheers.

Probably my only NBT beer tonight but I’ve been wrong before!

I had heard from Untappd reviews that others weren’t getting any head from their pours. Same on my end, something about the ungodly amount of marshmallow fluff...

Pours thick and dark with just a few bubbles. There is still a smallish ring around the glass. No lacing on this beast.
Aromas of vanilla, raw (you know, untoasted) marshmallows, bourbon.
First thing that jumps out it rye whiskey before it melds into marshmallow, vanilla, chocolate, a little bit of smoke, oak, bourbon.
This beer is stupid smooth. Smooth and slick, just like velvet. There is just the slightest amount of heat but it’s barely worth mentioning.
Overall, what a fantastic beer. Ascension has been putting out some hype worthy stouts. Hoping for my New Brew Thursday badge.

Cycle Brewing 2020 Wednesday courtesy of @DoctorZombies , thanks my friend ! I quite liked it !
Look- dark as a stout should be 4.25
Smell- A hint of sweetness but not over-powering 4.25
Taste- again a hint of sweetness from the vanilla and coconut. Not picking up the macadamia nuts but that could just be me 4.5
Feel- Medium bodied and carbonation. Not as heavy as many barrel aged stouts 4.5
overall- quite nice. If one wants a barrel aged stout that is not overly heavy and in your face this could be the one. Definitely would drink again.4.5

The nose begins with dusty malt, but moves to herbal, lemon peel, strawberry notes. Taste is orange, kiwi, bit of lemon meringue and berry. I definitely get more citrus to start but the finish reminds me alot of mosaic, even though that's not included in this beer.
Mouthfeel is so smooth and thickness is spot on.
Really loving the complexity of this beer between bitter and bright. Thank you again John!

Greetings to @Dragginballs76 and everyone else this unseasonably cold early April night. After getting off work and grabbing a pizza and two bombers from Iron Goat Brewing, I realized a beer had to be removed from the fridge. So, a witbier I bought on a whim 12 days ago was sacrificed.

Not much to write home about. Tastes like a Euro lager/witbier hybrid. Best thing about it is that it's pretty bland.

First of I have so say that this is a bad ass label and black can. Great bourbon nose with a nice thick body. Initial big barrel flavor that moved to chocolate and molasses (did not get much coconut). The finish on this was great... lingering barrel that melded into vanilla and sweet booziness. And that great finish lingered for a while. Outstanding beer 4.75
    Stay safe everyone!

Bourbon, fig, toffee on the nose, followed by rye spice, stone fruit, leather, smoke, plum, and old paper books on the palate. Mouthfeel is moderate to full. Finish is smooth and a tad hot this young but overall an excellent brew.

New beer courtesy of @r0rschach The Big Tourist by Martin House Brewing. Cool can art.
Nice nose of pineapple and melon followed by some strong, bitter, hoppy flavors. Enjoying this one to start off the night time drinking. Cheers y'all. \m/ <--- that's a shaka
