So real talk, anyone else finding the delivery/shipping costs a bit price prohibitive? Like I really want to support local during these times, and Grimm is my favorite NYC brewery. But after deliver fees on Caviar or shipping costs if I were to get it shipped both come out to about $28/four pack, or $43/six pack... I don't know... I may put in an order because I really want to support them, but how are you guys managing to keep this "hobby" going during this thing? I guess I was fine spending $20/4p back when I could go in person, but almost $30 is steep.

Also, I sincerely don't want to discourage those of you who can from continuing to order!! Obviously I want their doors to stay open through this thing.

Where do you live? Unless you could walk there, it cost you something to get there, so its not really $20 a 4 pack. This is a small price to be able to get beer in these crazy times and avoid being around people. And help insure when this all ends the brewery is still in business for you to back to.

Most shops in the city charge 8 to 10 a can, so the same price shipped seems like a decent deal.

Edit: though those cans have been through the virtuous hands of a distributor

Small price to pay IMO to support a great brewery and not have to leave the apartment in these trying times.

Five buck beer is definitely a luxury good, add a hefty 40% increase and now it's an extra luxury item. The economy is gonna take a major haircut. The lucky people who aren't out of work still have a sword of Damocles hanging over them, and because of this they are gonna start squirreling away savings to guard against the uncertainties.

This thing sucks, I hope this great beer scene survives, but I know I have to cut back personally. If you can afford it please keep it afloat so we can all indulge when the world returns to normal.

    Cheers & Good Health

Thankfully I still have a job, even though my company cut salaries across the board. Because of the $ I am saving on gas (hundreds a month normally), I have the $ to still support breweries. And the biggest plus is that my favorite breweries are showing up at my local store (OH, Grimm in particular) and they deliver.

Also, for those of you who always thought about homebrewing but never had the time - now is the time to start. With plenty of downtime at home, you have more than enough time to experiment. It’s cost effective and it helps support local businesses. LHBS have been struggling for years to the point where there aren’t many left. Ever since Homebrews and Handgrenades closed I’ve been going to Bitters and Esters off Atlantic Ave. They now deliver or do pick-up.

Guess I caved... not sustainable pricing for the long term... but then again this situation isn't sustainable for their business in the long term either. Gonna be a lot happier with their doors still open on the other side of this. Psychedelic Gardener is good drinking tonight too. Cheers everyone!

Maximum Impulse might be the best beer I've had in a while. Absolutely delightful.

Honestly $28 for a delivered 4-pack is cheaper than I would have imagined and cheaper than it probably should be.

The 4-pack is $20 at Grimm and if you don't live in walking distance you have train/Uber costs so lets be conservative and say you really spent $22 to go and get that 4-pack. Plus the cost of your time which I won't monetize here.

Now figure that if you get ANYTHING delivered, you should be tipping $5 on that (I'm not here for a tipping argument, do not even try me). That already takes you to $25. So then for an extra $3 you're A) Doing something you literally couldn't (for the most part) a month ago and get whatever beer you want delivered AND B) You're helping out a business you love and their staff.

You spent $6 just more than if you went and got it, you saved time and you're doing some good.

I know nobody was really complaining about the cost or anything, I just think it's worth putting all of that into perspective.

"Salvage" is an understatement. It is a great beer and a great batch, one of the nicest DIPAs I've had this year!

I guess I don't mind the shipping prices considering now much I've been saving by not eating out or drinking at bars. Remember restaurants and bars...those were fun.

Zonk reminds me of the original AGE. It’s incredibly smooth and citrus forward for a Triple.

Also really loving Psychedelic Gardener; so good. It really reminds me of my dad (not the beer, the name) and I think he would have gotten a kick out of the name.

Mosaic Rewind out today, glad they decided to make this a series!

    https://www.instagram.com/p/B-zkiyqliEl/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Mosaic Rewind! A follow-up to Classic Rewind, our west coast-inspired IPA, this single-hopped rendition features the well-rounded Mosaic varietal. Tropical fruitiness is layered with west coast malt character and a lingering resinous bite of bitterness to create a highly drinkable east meets west coast IPA. We're getting notes of cantaloupe, papaya, bubblegum, fresh sap, and a late-October pine needle forest floor. 7%ABV—$18/4-pk.

Mosaic Rewind releases today on all platforms—pick-up direct from the brewery or find it on Caviar, GrubHub, or our online beer shipping site (NYS shipping only). Also, our online shop for NYS shipping has been restocked! Please follow the link in our profile to peruse this week's offerings—including all the new releases from this past week! A couple reminders:

    1. We'll be restocking the store EVERY FRIDAY.
    2. All orders placed over the weekend won't ship out until MONDAY.
    3. If you place an order for shipping, PLEASE IGNORE THE SHOPIFY DELIVERY ETA. The date they provide is the date that UPS is PICKING-UP the order, not the date you will receive your beer. Please follow the UPS tracking instead!

+1 for Double Negative, kicking myself for not having a 2019 release on hand (and saving my 2018)
