    Hello!

I was lucky enough to get the anniversary set! The Brewers select was fantastic. I did open up a BAMA yesterday, and unfortunately it did gush and did have a green apple flavor at the end. It was not intense, but after the cinnamon and cocoa a green apple flavor emerged.

I did post this in the weldwerks trade forum and got some scepticism thrown my way and the post was deleted. So, really want to emphasize that this was just my experience and wanted to share. Really hoping it is a one off situation as no one else said they had issues.

    Cheers!

Have you started with an email to WW yet? Just curious if you bothered to do that before what now appears a second attempt at blowing them up? I have had BAMA and it had no issues personally. Hope you get all the attention you're looking for (and I have started it for you  )

Question #1) Did you email or call them first before posting here/there?

Fact, there's always going to be skepticism until there's more than a few people that notice it and until the beer is tested and found to have some sort of infection. Reason being is most big name brewer's extensively test their BA products before releasing them if anything to protect their reputation. I'd be very very surprised if Weldwerks didn't test and find it free of infection considering the last BAMA release. But.... you never know. One-off bottle infections can occur. I hope that's the case too.

Yes, an email was sent to them last night regarding my experience.

Thanks for letting us know and sorry for the issue with the bottle. The only thing I can possibly think of is perhaps a compromised crown or seal. We have been pasteurizing every single barrel aged release for quite some time now and verifying micro stability with PCR, so I can say with 100% certainty that the beer itself was not affected. We've been through that before and we've spent a lot of money to ensure it will never happen again. That being said, I suppose it's possible there could have been an isolated issue with your specific crown/cap. We'll follow up with your email to take care of the issue and thanks again for bringing it to our attention.

For what it's worth, I feel pretty confident this is trade or trade value related. Reactions to some very similar posts elsewhere have basically come back with no other similar reports. Sometimes even from the OP...

Kind of a random question here @Tarheel4985 but is there any specific reason why the last few Noche releases have not included ABV either on the label or their Untappd entry?

To be honest, since #abvgate we decided not to publish any ABVs for barrel aged blends that we could not verify with an alcolizer before the labels go to print. Up until last year, our ABV calculations for barrel aged beers were fairly reliable, as verified with lab results. But several factors over the past 8-12 months have made those in-house calculations less reliable, such as significantly higher OG and FG, extended aging in barrels (20+ months), varying storage conditions between our two barrel barrel rooms (heat/humidity in particular), and increasing the complexity of our blends by selecting casks from multiple batches/spirits. Unfortunately, the delay between lab testing and receiving labels is too long to make it work logistically for our operations. So since those bottles do not leave the state and we are not required to publish ABV on the label, we figured it was best to omit it entirely rather than risk publishing something that could be inaccurate. But for all of our barrel aged projects, the beer goes into the barrels around 10-12% and the majority come out around 12-14%.

Lefukya, thank you! That was a far more comprehensive and illuminating response than I was expecting to satisfy a mild curiosity of mine

Picked up a few 4 packs from the teet this weekend..

Really impressed with the Hef, though not quite Prost level, its really tasty.

Fit Bits is great too.. packs tons of flavor into a calorically light beer without sacrificing body- my issue with session styles.

Galaxy DIPA is ridiculous. Pushes my limit on ABV for a hoppy boi and you can’t even tell. Awesome beer featuring some of my favorite hops.

    Well done per usual WW!

Any whispers on when the taproom might start to phase in on-site visits?

Def relevant to my interests... I'm sitting on tickets for the most recent Noche sale in hopes that I can enjoy an on-site beer when I pick-up. Any hope of this @Tarheel4985 ?

That’s where I’m at. Doing the drive from KC to Denver with my brother to pick up 5th Anny sets and Coco/2020 Noche. I’m assuming we won’t be able to hit up the brewery for drafts, but that would make the quick trip next weekend pretty epic. We’re also hoping for some great to-go cans to bring back and share with the masses.
