I had a 2013 on tap at Three Penny over in Montpelier early March and it was incredible...can't imagine an extra year on it! Delicious!

Yes, there are terrible cheapies; but, with the Corona-virus craze, I decided to stock up on some brews I liked in college. So, at $10 a case, right now, Lost Lake is the best bang for the buck. Lite/Bud Light are macro-trash; but understandably still here, as they sell like hot cakes. But at $10 Lost Lake is pretty dang decent. $17 will get you 30 Special Exports. Close as any brewer ever got to a Euro macro lager. Now, I'm biased, my first bier, given to me by my grandpa when I was 9 (in 1979), was a SpeshEx. I still like it. Very surprising to me. Just a little more "industrial." Wish I could describe that flavor (teeny bit metallic?) But, man, in a world where people blow tons on really weak brews, Ex stands out. People drinking these gawdaful pilsners should take note and save money. But, then, maybe blowing the money on some perceived greatness is where it's at in their heads. After all, it got high reviews.

Either way, fun to go back, but I'm sticking with some slightly better offerings. I hope you'll see SOL take over the Carona/Dos Equis market. Much better brew than those two, IMHO. Again, I have a bias, had many great nights with a SOL in paw.

IDK man, I know what you are saying, but for a buck a beer, I am hard pressed to find a beer I like better. Thankfully Pilsner Urquell isn't much more expensive, but I always have some Becks on hand for a cheap fix.

Macro beers I love much more than any hype:

    Michelob Amber Bock (superb)

Yuengling ($2 draft pints every day at every bar in PA)

    Boddington's (draft)

For fans of Wild Ales, I think Wicked Weed "Canvas Series" sours in particular are world class with the best of them. Of course since the purchase by InBev a few years back, alot of people on here tend to turn a blind eye and not mention them them these days. I don't mix beer politics and beer drinking but that is just me I guess.

Taras Boulba is so good. It’s been on at Monks for what seems like forever.

Man, I really miss Monks. Hope they can make it through this thing. I know Toms getting ready to retire. Maybe he will keep someone in charge. Fergie is not a Belgian fan and already has a bunch of places and is in the middle of redoing the old Belgian Cafe.

Can’t say I can think of a beer to fit this category. There are countless great beers that somehow get overlooked due to different reasons. SN Stout and Keller Come to mind.

    Stay Safe

    Enjoy

The whole Flying Dog portfolio is wildly underrated. They’re super consistent, reliable, and make great IPAs.

Celebrator. Had one the other night and had forgotten just how perfect that beer is.
