    Good day to all BA!

New Brew Thursday for me, was this thread called off by the way? It was missing last week and it got me pondering...

So I am drinking a Milkshake IPA from Blightly, Cloudy Job and the brewery St Autell. Double dry hopped, including Citra, Amarillo and El dorado. A bit of lactose of course and a smooth feeling to it, nice body and quaffable as hell. Worth it!

    Cheers...

Have a good Thursday. Played Halo CE most of the night with some random youtube watching bits mixed in. Also music. Finally got confirmation of getting weekly virus unemployment benefits starting in a week or two, being retroactive from the week of the 5th onward. Also installed Battlefield 1942 just now from my external hard drive. I love WWII FPS so I am going to restart a campaign on this one right now.

Bell's Light Hearted. Excellent Session IPA. Great rocky head retention/spotty foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate cracker, toasted biscuit malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 3.7%. Awesome Centennial/Galaxy profile. Very vibrant, dank, earthy, and fairly juicy hops; with a nice clean pale malt backbone for the ABV. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. No complaints! Would have been ok just to keep it 100% Centennial hops, but the Galaxy adds some nice complexity to it that I really enjoy. 4

Sweet USA Network has a Psych Lockdown Binge-a-thon going on, with James Roday and Dule Hill doing at home skype stream comments during commercial break. Even some classic quotes lol.

Mikkeller SD Read The Room. Excellent NEDIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big pineapple, tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, mango, honeydew melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker toasted bread malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky/resinous/rindy hops in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness; no lingering hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 7.9% or lingering hop burn after the finish. Awesome Sultana(formerly Denali) hop profile. Very vibrant, juicy, dank, and earthy hops; with a great clean wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. No complaints! They certainly have done many better NEIPAs in the past, but this still is well made.

Good day BAs! A bit of snow on the roofs this morning, not unlike me. Today's New Breakfast Beer is a bit of a disappointment:

Markedly sour with sediment but does have a bit of chipotle heat. And another case of my review being chopped off on BA, although when I go into edit mode, it's all there.

Just still watching the Psych Marathon. Have been for 4 hours. Haven't even started my Battlefield campaign yet. Slamming some rockstars down as I've been up all night.

Oskar Blues One-y. Excellent session NEIPA. Nice fluffy head retention/spotty foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew, watermelon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, red apple, wood, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finish. Balanced creamy/bready/grainy wheat, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, not aggressive, not watery for 4%. Great El Dorado, Comet, Citra, Mosaic, and French Aramis profile. Very vibrant and fairly juicy/dank/earthy hops; with a great clean pale/wheat malt backbone for the ABV. Mild residual sweetness with crisp dryness. No complaints.

This was a very nice coffee flavored imperial stout. I’ve been wanting to try a beer from this highly-lauded brewery for a long time and was finally able to find this one on Tavour. 2019 date printed on the bottle. Pours a very thick syrupy jet-black opaque color with some nice tan-mocha head and some very spotty lingering lacing. I wish that the lacing would have persisted longer, but I did really enjoy the appearance of the liquid itself. Smells incredible, deep dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, brown sugar, malt, toasted nuts and a little cinnamon. I really couldn’t detect chili peppers in the aromas. Taste follows the nose, great balance, depth and complexity. At the finish there was a very mild note of chili peppers, although without any corresponding heat. This was a sipper of a beer, but the high ABV was still fairly well hidden and this paired well with both savory dinner and sweet dessert. Coffee was neither acidic nor sour, and was actually very well done considering other coffee stouts tend to go crazy on the coffee infusion. This one had just the right amount of reserve. Smooth, thick, syrupy, creamy mouthfeel that coated the palate. Just the right amount of carbonation. An excellent beer!
