I think I may be done with Veil until I can walk up and pick up again with no online BS... Veil NFK is definitely not as busy as RVA can get. If the day ever comes where I do see a line, hey guess what, I'll drive right past anyway.

Curbside info for next week. Starting Tues, 4/21...
    __________________________________________
We would like to announce that starting, Tues. 4/21 we will be offering a new online ordering system w/prepayment for curbside pick up! Please see below for details surrounding this newly offered service. We are incredibly grateful for everyone’s support during theses difficult times and ask that you please be patient+bear with us as we continue to learn+adapt to new ways of life as a brewery.⠀

    - To place your order go to www.theveilbrewing.com and after you selected that you are over 21, you will be taken to our landing page. Then click your corresponding location. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PLACED ONLINE+PAID IN ADVANCE. NO TRANSACTIONS CAN BE PLACED ON THE PREMISES.⠀

    - Once you have been redirected to that locations store, you will be able to add as many items as you’d like to the cart (given we have the stock).⠀

    - In checkout please select Curbside pickup and leave a note in your order for your desired pickup time. We will be open for pickup from 1pm-7pm Tues.-Fri. and 12pm-6pm Sat. & Sun. If your order has not been picked up at the end of the requested pick up day, your order will be refunded+returned to stock.⠀

    - When we receive your order, we will send over confirmation to you based off your requested pick up time and your order is ready to be picked up.⠀

    - Please pull into our parking lot, park in a numbered space, and do not exit your vehicle. A greeter will come to your vehicle and ask for your order number. Soon after, a team member will bring your order out to your car. ⠀

    - If the parking lot is full, please circle the block, or find street parking until a parking spot within our lot becomes available. We’ll do our best to move through customers as quickly as possible so please bear with us if your time slot requested happens to be a popular one.⠀

    - We are happy to set your order in your vehicle for you so you do not have to exit your vehicle. Or you can request we leave it outside your vehicle for you to load in to your car yourself.⠀

    - Our staff will be changing gloves+wearing masks in between helping each customer and are happy to sanitize your car door handles after touching them as well.⠀

    - Once you’ve received your beer, please drive home safe+enjoy!

The curbside prepay setup at Benchtop is great, I’ve been using it regularly. Pay online, I walk over & they hand me my beer. Hopefully Veil is as easy.

Wouldn't be surprised if Veil finds some way to overthink the process. Seems they are making such a big deal about something most other breweries have been doing for nearly a month now. It's not that hard. Heck, use Biermi like many of the others if they don't want to develop their own system through their site. I've done both pickup and delivery from a couple breweries using it and it's been so easy.

Just picked up the Dancing Gnome collab and 2 crowlers of Jam Pact from them today (the former for me, latter for the wife)

I will now refer to the online BS that any brewery in these "uncertain times" (stupid f**king term, all time is uncertain) does as "Ticketmaster beer"

I’m probably in the minority but their sours are fucking gross (at least the weapon, NNCMCM, tefnut). Wasted nearly $100 on smoothies, almost 1/2 my purchases went down the drain.

Yeah, I think you generally are. I know some people who don’t like the Tefnut series but like the Never series. I’m fine with the Tefnuts generally although I prefer the Nevers.

    Sorry, dude. That stinks.

Edit: The Weapon sounds like The Victim, which I had last year, and was one of the worst beers I had last year.

If you hate the Veil's fruited sours, whose do you prefer?

Just about anyone's I've had, The Veil's are way too thick. As far as local kettle sours go, I think Aslin and Crooked Run make better than The Veil. Two Roads also better than The Veil.

I assume you didn't know you hated them beforehand? Because it begs the question, why did you spend $100 on beers you do not like?

A lot of people are looking for those thicker style ones, so it sounds like your preferences align more with fruited berliners. I think the high abv Tefnuts are just too much personally, so I never buy cans, at most I just try a pour on draft, but the never series is often pretty good imo.
Interesting you prefer Aslin, I have an Aslin semi-local that has me send him Veil sours all the time as he much prefers them. But hey different strokes...

Really? If I knew I didn't like them, I clearly wouldn't have bought them and paid $25 to have them shipped to me. I had never had a Veil beer before aside from a collab beer with Ocelot and I looked at reviews for all the beers I purchased, all were around 4.3 or so on Untappd. I didn't realize people we into drink fruit pruee with a little booze added.

Like it or not/slight exaggeration aside, that is what is very popular and common now, it sells.

Hey man, I didn't mean to cause such offense. I feel like The Veil sends up a good amount of sour stuff up to Rustico, etc. I don't know where you go or what you've had before. That's why I started by saying I assumed you hadn't. I'm sorry that they dealt you a bum hand.

Have not seen a negative comment yet about the pickups. Amazing how Veil was pretty against it saying it was too complicated and put extra strain on their staff to make it happen yet after last week's debacle they were able to roll out a pretty seamless process in less than a week. Good on them!

I've got a Never Never and a Tefnut in my fridge right now. I feel like the Tefnut series is a bit much, but the Never Never series is just right....

Give Vasen a try for the more Berliner like sours. And you can drop the veil sours off at my place
