Haha. The undisclosed IPA is queens exclusive... Guess I'll go to Queens brewery that likes Brooklyn, whale watching it is.

If I had to guess, it will pop up for sale at the brewery today/tomorrow. Didn’t at least one if not both of the recent ACE/Space batches appear for delivery before being announced for sale at the brewery? I think they’re aiming to make sure that both brewery retail buyers and delivery buyers all get an option to buy, and managing their inventory for the latter. And if I’m wrong then *shrug* - I will have only tried 384 IPA micro-variations from OH, not 385.

The online shop said surprise collab IPA not to be announced until release day which would be Fri/Saturday likely. The way the deliveries are spread out, they had to add it ahead of time. They’ll have more for pickup I’m sure. They probably just don’t want to draw the attention.

I think the worst part is their posts right after this happened seemed to shift blame on their customers while not taking any responsibility for doing a stupid thing in the first place... yeah not getting any support from me moving forward.
Ah! The FOMO is real on this one!

I agree, lets be real, breweries aren't actually essential businesses like grocery stores or pharmacies, if they want to keep operating at the moment it should be on them to enforce the social distancing guidelines and plan to prevent crowds from forming.

Lengthy IG post to avoid a Veil-style disaster

The world is weird right now, so we thought we'd roll with it. Introducing Freaky Friday, where we swap recipes with one of our pals and try our hand at each other's beers. We're thrilled to team up with @theveilbrewing on our inaugural beer! PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST.

White Ferrari Imperial IPA (8.0%) Freaky Friday Edition brewed at Other Half!!! Let's get freaky with one of @theveilbrewing classic imperial IPAs, White Ferrari. Brewed with, as The Veil puts it, luxurious amounts of Citra and Galaxy. The Veil gave us their specs for brewing this classic beer and we whipped it up Brooklyn style. Cheers to our good friends at The Veil for doing this with us. Keep an eye out for an OH classic coming out of Richmond. $20 per 4 pack, limit 2 per person. ORDERS MUST BE PLACED ONLINE, NOT AVAILABLE FOR WALK UPS.

**Please read below for details on how to get this beer**

This Freaky Friday collab will be available via delivery and curbside pickup ONLY. Once we are sold out we will put an IG story up and on the curbside pick up you will not be able to order/put into your cart.

Today at noon we will release 50 cases, 150 allotments.

Tomorrow we will release 25 cases, 75 allotments at 8am, and 25 cases, 75 allotments at noon.

Sunday we will release 25 cases, 75 allotments at 11am, and 25 cases, 75 allotments at 3pm.

We want to do everything possible to avoid having a line outside the brewery, so please read the instructions below carefully.

We are saving cases of this beer for the next 3 to 4 home distribution days. More info to come on this.
    **
You do not need to be at the brewery to place an order for curbside pickup - order using the link in our bio and pick up at the brewery any time that day. You do not need to have a car to use curbside pickup, but please DO NOT FORM A LINE.

You will receive a message when your order is ready for pick up. Please do not arrive at the brewery before you receive the message.

You must remain 6+ft from all other customers at all times. Strict limit of two 4 packs per order - we will not honor orders with more than two 4 packs, so don't even try it. Wear a mask, and thank you for reading this all.

I would prefer some Citra Galaxy, but, this sounds like a good hold me over. Since they just delivered to my zone on Thursday looks like I won't be able to get this.

My take is that this will be a recurring Friday thing?

I was 100% wrong on my previous post. Hopefully nothing bad comes of this via crowding. I haven't seen more than a couple customers there in previous weeks. If they can make that continue I'll be impressed.

I think this is the first "Everything" that I will completely miss out on in 6+ years. It was a good run! (unless they rebrew it, which sounds likely)

Anyone else see the irony that the collab happens to be with the Veil?

Do New Yorkers have a reputation for being basic or something?

That they're collabing with someone who makes crappy beer?

Won’t disagree there, I think the Richmond area tends to overhype The Veil and Answer (although I think Triple crossing is super underrated)

I think after the lineup issues the Veil had the other day and now Other Half is taking very specific measures to mitigate such a line while the Veil just showed gross negligence
