I have a strong feeling this will drop while I'm on the interstate going 80 with a cop next to me 2 miles before I hit the WI border. Guarantee it.

I don’t see how it would be possible to enforce one package total when it’s two separate items, and all that’s needed to pickup is an order number. My gut tells me no limit, and I totally respect that. Hell I think for these whale releases adding on $30-40 of extras is too little. Make people buy an extra $100 of product if they want a bottle they can flip. Derivation to go? You gotta buy $1000 of regular beers to negate secondary.

they enforced a limit with fuzzy, i don’t see how they can’t enforce it the same way. even if it’s a false claim, saying they will cancel orders of more than one each will keep a lot of folks from risking it. i just want one and not have to try and trade for it.

100s of ppl are going to get it just to flip it for bourbon :slight_frown:

I have a question about SP beers and this seemed like a good place to ask it. I'm slowly getting more into the saison/wild genre but a lot of what I've had from SP has been way too tart for my palate. Can anyone recommed some SP saisons that aren't so sour. Doesn't have to be available to go currently. I would be open to trading for something. FWIW I had a bottle of SdF from Pinot Noir puncheons last week and really enjoyed it.

Specifically I was curious about Oude du Ble, Blended 2017 or 35 years if anyone has thoughts on those but I'm open to whatever you saison veterans think.

    Thanks!

Blended was fairly tart as I recall. Iirc, Oude du Ble seems less tart fresh but gets more so as it ages. For what they have available now, I'd recommend Bier du Pays. Low abv and not very sour/tart. Very drinkable so not an issue to kill a bottle solo. Others you might look at are Merci, Sunsets, and Saison du Ble. Only Sunsets has much trade value over retail.

2nd the grisette. Would also check out marietta ave and a la table if it comes back again. 35 years was pretty tart/sour if memory serves.

I'd drink a gallon of A la Table.

    And still be sober.

    It's great, though.

In addition to SP, check out Crooked Stave, Almanac or Jolly Pumpkin. All brewers create very well balanced sours at under $1 an oz. JP Oro de Calabaza made me me realize the greatness of the category.

Le Feau Vert (w/ Creature Comforts) was pretty mellow. opened up a bottle a couple weekends ago and it was drinking great.

Thanks! I've had some Crooked Stave and liked them. My wife loves them. Haven't had much Jolly Pumpkin but I'll check it out. I was at Jester King this summer and was pleasantly surprised by how much I loved everything they made. Just figured that since I live in STL that side project would be easier to get my hands on.

I was thinking about that one too. I had it on tap at the brewery a month or two ago and was pretty impressed with it. Good to hear the bottles are still holding up well. I was worried I may have sat on mine too long.

Drank mine in May 2019. Thought it was a wonderful interplay of funky and fruity from the brett. I thought the tartness was subtle. I drank it and Barrel aged Dorothy (Hill Farmstead) close together and I felt LFV more than held its own. Done blind probably could have gone either way.

I think that brett would only develop more over time and change flavors. Trend toward more funk, less fruit. I love brett beers fresh for the expression ,but always interesting and fun to see how it develops over time.

the draft pours i had were kind of average. nothing stood out. the bottle i opened recently was a wonderful mix of wine, oak, funk, slight bitterness from the hops. very enjoyable.
