The sun has been out here in WA for a couple of weeks and it has me yearning for our consistent 75-degree summer time. And also thinking about nice, crisp, refreshing beers to drink as the temperature rises.

I’ve been thinking about what the best bottles to share with friends this summer might be and I think peach and nectarine sour beers sound phenomenal. Maybe I’m just excited for summer.

I thought I’d share the beers I’m excited to drink this summer and see what everyone else is excited for.

For me, I’m excited for The Orchard, Nectarine Premiere, The Peach, The Nectarine, Fuzzy... Pretty much any “light” sour!

What are you excited to drink when the weather gets hot? What should we all have on our radar this summer?

For me it's as simple as giving up stouts and most other heavy, dark beers. I almost always have IPAs in the fridge year-round, so I mostly stick with them. Depending on how long we remain housebound, I may take a drive to Three Floyds to get a case of Zombie Dust, or stop at a good bottle shop in Indiana for other things I can't get in Michigan. (Fat Head's Head Hunter if it's fresh.)

It’s hard to argue that a good IPA isn’t the king of summer. Zombie Dust is definitely up there. Just about any of the juice bomb NEIPAs are summer time gold too!

Same as above for me. I start drinking less darker, stronger beers and move over to more ipas, tripels, wits, pilsners and lagers, etc. I'm intrigued by sours though but haven't tried many... any good ones that are widely distributed to give a try?

Depending on where you’re at in Missouri you may not need wide distribution. If you’re by St. Louis then Side Project is the place to go!

I will later today be making my weekly run to Victory Brewing Co. to pick up some crowlers. On today's shopping list is Summer Love:

Not a huge Founders guy, but their Pilsner is tremendously bright and refreshing. Only available in 15 packs which is both a good thing and a bad thing

I get what your diggin' at man, coming from the Bothell/Kenmore area. The weather has been great.

A lot of the local breweries like Matchless, Narrows, Trapdoor, Wander, Aslan etc.. are beginning to pump out new session type IPAs for the season, that's where I'll be heading this summer.

Indiana liquor stores are curbside only until May 1. You have to ask an employee who likely has no clue about beer to get your order for you. It will, most likely, be badly outdated as everyone has quit going due to terrible & slow service. Can't speak to a direct purchase from 3Floyds. Your experience could be different than mine, of course.

What are your thoughts on All Day IPA? I don’t think a better yard work beer exists!

Man, I forgot about Matchless. Definitely going to have to get some of their beer queued up for the sunshine!

Dunno if I can get behind Oberon.... After years of Oberon release parties in college...

Haha, that is an iconic summer brew though!

For the price, it's certainly hard to beat. It's one of the beers that I'll never turn down, but will most likely never have in my fridge regularly. As for yard work beers, few hold a candle to it! Cheers, my friend!

I used to enjoy Two Brothers Brewing company's Dog Days Dortmunder every summer, but sadly I think they dropped this one from their rotation.

Honesty, living in Florida I don’t really have summer beers. Pretty consistently drink stouts ipa and lagers year round
