[IMG] Poured into a 13oz Snulip glass, canned 3/8/2020. Pours a very clear yellow orange with a 2 plus finger sticky white head that leaves loads of thick lace as it slowly settles. 4.25

Smell is papaya, mango, apricot, pine, and grapefruit rind. 4

Taste follows mango, papaya, and apricot upfront with a shot of pine and grapefruit in the rather bold but balanced finish. 4

Mouthfeel is a solid medium, a tad dry, plenty of carbonation, and at 6.6% it is bold but drinkable. 4

Overall $9.99 a 6 pack, yes I will crush you a few times a week. Rock solid beer. 4

Wait just a minute. You live in Delaware, not far from Philly, and you're receiving this from a BA in Hawaii? Great job, Sean!

This beer came from the generous @Dimidiata via NBS 11, and its a mystery beer with a warning “14% ABV” so I proceed with caution. Pour is deep black with no head and no carbonation to speak of, looks like a stout, smells sweet, taste is cocoa, vanilla, a bit boozy, very desert like, a decadent beer sipper for sure, enjoyed for an afternoon session.

    And the reveal:

Modern Times Monster Park, RIS aged in bourbon barrels, with vanilla, and blackberry cobbler, quite the interesting combination, well brewed and enjoyed for sure, thanks Christine!

#2, courtesy of @JBowenGeorgia a couple of years ago in another NBS BIF. This is a waaaaaay cool flavor ride. And I hope to see him back on this thread - haven’t seen him in a while here. He’s a great beer nerd.

Pours a murky mahogany brown with a tan head that is gone faster than Deion Sanders ran the 40-yard dash. I picture old ales a little less murky than this - it looks like pond water.

The nose has a lotta booze up front, and there’s an apple aroma, but the star is the molasses and toffee notes. This bodes well for the taste.

There’s some booze on the taste, but the molasses and toffee whip the booze’s buttocks into submission, which clears the way for the apple flavor, which balances the booze and sweetness with a bit of tart that works exceptionally well.

I don't like USPS for bottles. They don't fit tight, and I hate leaving room for things to move.

From the Frost Beer Works website:

COVID-19 has hit industries hard. In collaboration with @otherhalfnyc and over 550 breweries around the world, we brewed our interpretation of All Together IPA. 100% of our proceeds will be donated to VT businesses in need. Additionally, we're proud to offer our gratitude and aid to the entire beverage supply chain. We’re offering this beer at a discounted retail price of $10 per 4-pack to directly thank you, our valued customers, while still providing increased margins to our hardworking retailers during these unprecedented times. #thankyou #hanginthere #withatastybeveragethathelpseveryone

    16 oz. can.
    04/10/20.
Moderate pour yields a one (+) inch white head over a hazy light golden body with some lacing. Nose of citrus and tropical fruit with some floral aspects as well. Taste mirrors nose nicely with grapefruit, slight pineapple, berries, and currants. Finishing crisp and delicious! Nice feel and overall a really great beer to help the hospitality industry people and a huge cheer to the benevolence of the people of Frost Beer Works!!!

I cited "official" BIF business knowing that some ninja boxes are still likely to fly (including from me, if I can get my hands on some decent stuff!). :grinning:

It's been a great, great BIF so far, but almost certainly because of COVID, it's been pretty tame in terms of ninja boxes (and at least one was lost in transit). I suspect that despite the slower pace, we will manage to get a few more attacks out there before it's all said and done.

    Greetings, fellow NBSers,

Currently social distancing at woemad world headquarters, where it is a partly cloudy 65°. I've been reasonably lucky til now, working a low-paying but "essential" job, so I've been living a less disrupted life than many of my friends. But my workplace is not immune to
math. And since it's gone from bringing in approximately $50,000 down to $2,500 per day, starting next week, I'll only be working 3 days per week. Meaning, I really need a beer...
Fortunately, thanks to @Whyteboar, I have one, and, at 10% ABV, it's a biggun':
New Year's Hopsolution is an imperial black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale, and while the hops have probably faded a bit since it was presumably kegged in January, it's extremely drinkable for something so strong. Coffeeish, chocolatey, piney and a bit juniperish, I very much enjoyed it while navigating my state's unemployment process online. Thanks, @Whyteboar!

I have shipped a LOT of boxes the last 10 years or so. The two boxes I shipped during this BIF terrified me. When they were delivered, I literally gasped with relief.

I do that every time - even when using bottle shippers. I've just had such poor luck (especially as a recipient), I just don't trust it until it arrives.
