No. I am not. He's given me very little detail. Maybe he'll send the agreed bottle. I offered the option of an alternative bottle. Maybe he'll send that. I'm not calling him a bad trader. This isn't a bad trader thread. It was a thread about traders backing out of agreed trades, and a poll of opinions on the matter. I think it's a red flag for bad trading behaviour, but right now, I'm not saying anything. That is a serious label, and I'm not just going to throw it around without knowing the outcome. Even then, if he actually bails on the trade, then that's up to the mods. I would say probably, but I'm not saying that right now, no. Bad Trader move? Yes, absolutely. Bad Trader in general? Too early to say.

More words than I would have used but so I understand:

Today your stance is he is not a bad trader but you claim he backed out of a trade after asking you to purchase bottles for an agreed upon trade that had not been logged in the trader feedback system. Right?

I have read exactly one post in this thread prior to posting this.

    Two points to consider:
    1) Screenshots or it didn't happen.
    2) No one wants to trade you rare lambic for shelf haze.

Here we go... basically feel like I’m being harassed at this point. Never said I was backing out, I can not ship right now for personal reasons. I said I’d circle back when things clear up. Sorry I can’t give you a definite timeframe at this point.

Okay. 1 minute ago, trader, messaged me this:

"I’m failing to see what it is you don’t understand... you are taking this all way to personally. I am dealing with some things right now which make me not able to bring to packages in and out of the house. I will let you know if I can at some point when things clear up. I’ve told you this 6 times at this point. Please stop harassing me"

I've never harassed the guy. I waited a month to message, then just asked for some clarification, and this is all I got.

I’ll trade you whatever he offered plus a four pack of yellow rose for whatever y’all “agreed” upon

I'll see this and raise any four bottles from the gas station down the street from me, but they can't be too expensive and I won't buy them until you've shipped.

Very pertinent question, because as I see it, the poll at the top of the thread is disingenuous at best. After reading the preamble, it's clear the poll is inapplicable to the situation because an agreed upon BA trade means the official trade request is sent out and accepted.

And I see that Skrip has responded he did decline it.

Personally I don't go out and buy beer specifically for a trade without an accepted trade request, unless I know I'd drink it in lieu of the trade regardless.

This trader is also offering beers FT that aren’t in his possession yet and that he knows he might not obtain, so I don’t think you’re going to find much common ground on that point...

He rejected the trade request. Drink what you bought or post a trade for what you were hoping for. The end.

I didn't offer anything for the trade. He told me what he wanted - a specific, upcoming release, which I went to, and then obtained said bottle. I didn't post for it. This was a PM trade.

To repeat myself from yesterday: I was referring to this...

“I think a lot of people don't understand that sometimes it simply isn't appropriate or even feasible too. Really big releases especially. Are you familiar with Allagash Coolship Bardus? 600 bottle limit, 1pp (changed), and a crazy rush of people. If you offered someone a trade for a beer like that, and opened a trade request before going, and the bottles sold out before your number, then you'd be at fault for finalising a trade without the beer in-hand. Even releases like Swish - right now, they're doing preorders with limited quantities, and they sell out in minutes of going live. I promised a Swish trade to someone, and even hovering with my credit card, it sold out before I could purchase it.”
