Bad trader AJ1394

    Have traded with this guy multiple times in the past and always seemed like a nice guy, although tends to take awhile to get his packages out. Agreed to a trade back at the end of january, some east coast hops for an arcane rituals and number crunch. Unfortunately since we've had multiple trades before i did not use the BA reporting system and did most of our communication after we agreed on what was to be traded via text. From his texts sounds like he had a number of personal issues come up, but after 3 and 1/2 months of less and less communication and no package I figured I need to put out an alert just to be careful when trading with him. I get the impression he really does have a lot of things going on and they aren't just excuses, and he is generally a good guy but if he ever does show back up on BA be careful of trading with him and make sure he sends out first. AJ if you see this hope things are going better.

    yes i shipped back in january. Weve been in contact since then via text and each time said he would get them out ASAP but now no longer responding to text. Dont think hes active on here at all right now.

    Sorry to read this OP and hopefully @Aj1394 is okay.

    However, it doesn’t seem like you ever used the trade system since under neither of your stats do I see any connections. Again, have to use it as the basis of trading, first trade together or fiftieth (I’m sure people will disagree).

    That said, he hasn’t been on in over two months and you seem to have some insight that other factors are going on outside of here, so I don’t hold out much hope.

    You say you’ve been in contact via text, but he’s stopped responding. When was the last reply from him?

    Yeah I know it’s partially on me for not going through the official channels. I actually initially started trading with him on Facebook 2 years ago and then started talking to him on here without realizing it was the same guy I knew when I saw a post he made in $4$. Realized he was the same guy when he gave me his phone number on here and it matched one in my phone already. I don’t expect my trade to get resolved at this point and Given my history with him don’t think he deserves a ban or anything even if we did go through the correct channels. Mostly just wanted to put it out there for people to know to be careful trading with him for the good of the community since I can’t give feedback on an actual trade post since we didn’t make one. If that’s against the board rules and needs to be removed I understand

    I hear you and I think it’s always best practice to keep the community in the loop on delinquent users with poor communication, outside issues notwithstanding, so appreciate that.

    Hopefully it turns out okay for him and maybe you reconnect once he sorts things out. Good luck.

    I don’t usually chime in on these sorts of things, but I reached out to @Snicht when I saw this post. I have always been suspicious that the accused was the same person who burned me on a trade a while back on Reddit. He was banned there as a result and his first trade on BA happened shortly afterwards.

    After comparing info with Snicht, I am convinced it’s the same person. Whether or not he can be labeled as a bad trader based on what transpired on this site will be up to the moderators, but I can assure you this is not the first time he has stolen beer from someone. In my opinion, he won’t be back on the site and should be banned.

    I can confirm We talked and determined this was the same person without giving away too much personal information. Essouter knew AJs name and approximately where the address I had for him was. Sad to hear this is a pattern

    Hmmm... this user seems like a scumbag. I thought his username looked familiar until I looked at my Do-Not-Trade list and he was the first name on there. My comments (to myself as a reminder were): "completely ghosted after an agreed upon trade."

    He stopped responding after we agreed to the trade and I had sent over the trade request. After a couple of days of him not confirming the trade request, I canceled it and sent him message that the trade was 'off'. He never responded after that either.

    What would you like to do at this point @Snicht? I'm happy to leave this thread open for a few more days or even weeks if you think there's any chance @Aj1394 will come on here and explain himself (and possibly make arrangements to send you the beer he promised you). However, I'm showing it's been nearly 3 months since he was last active on BA, so I can't say I'm holding out much hope of that. It also sounds like he may have a history of deception and deceit, which is another reason it's hard to be overly optimistic.

    Frankly, at this point I think we have enough information to ban this member, and I'll gladly make that recommendation if you don't want to wait any longer. However, I don't think it can do any harm to leave this thread open a bit longer, if that's what you want to do.

    I originally wouldn’t have wanted him banned but after it looks like this has been a pattern on multiple sites with multiple people I would think it would be best for the community. Seems like allowing him to continue here would just be letting someone else that doesn’t know him get scammed.

    That's my impression as well. Do you still want to keep this thread open for a while, or should we go ahead and close it? I'll recommend to @Todd that we retire his account once the thread is closed.

    @Todd. This is a thread that was started a week ago in the hope that @Aj1394 would at some point respond to this thread and explain himself. However, the BT hasn't been active on BA for going on three months now, and based on some of the other posts in this thread, it sounds like he's a multiple offender. At this point it would be my recommendation that he be banned from BA.
