Has anyone heard if Sierra Nevada will be doing a collaboration Oktoberfest this year? I haven't heard anything yet regarding who they would collaborate with, or if it's too early to tell due to the current pandemic. Thanks for any info!

Thats a really good point - they'd most likely be brewing it soon, but thats most likely impossible given the current Pandemic.

Makes sense and I am interested in their take. They brewed an Oktoberfest for their mixed seasonal pack years ago and it was good, assume that this will be even better.

Did he say if that was because of the Pandemic? or was it planned all along?

I will let him respond. I don't think that was the reason, but he will say definitely.

No worries! I just wasn't sure if he mentioned that in the podcast or not.

Since 2015, this was one of the annual seasonal releases I most looked forward to. Due to reasons out of their control, they probably couldnt collaborate on a marzen for this season. I'm interested to sample their own take on the style and I'm willing to buy at least one 6 pack and find out if its up to snuff.

Kind of excited to see what SN has learned over the years and can put together on their own. One of the beers I look forward to every fall. Good bridge until Celebration season.

I'll join in and say that I also look forward to this beer and usually buy at least one 12-pk if not more.

Have they never made an Oktoberfest on their own before? I thought the collaborations were a recent project

They made an “Oktoberfest” before the collaborations.

That's what I thought. In fact I thought I liked and bought it before any collaborations so I'm kind of confused about the
    Posts

But I guess I too am excited to see their efforts this year. The collaborations all felt different enough that it will be interesting to see if this year conforms to (my memory) of their precollab rendition

It was part of their 2014 fall variety pack the year before they started doing their collaborations.

I remember drinking this fall pack while I was moving that summer. Great little fall pack that year with the Pale Ale, Oktoberfest, Vienna, and Tumbler. I think that was the first year they had a fall pack, or at least the first year I had their Vienna. I believe Tumbler made its return in that fall pack as well after being retired.

Bought the fall pack every year after that (mostly because of the Vienna).

Well, maybe every year up to 2018. In 2019 Sierra Nevada stopped producing seasonal mix-packs.:slight_frown:

    Cheers!
