It’s their retro label from back in 1980. You should check out the story behind it.

These labels will be used April through July I believe, so that’s how I knew it would be a fresh batch.

...I don't normally go with coffee beers later in the day, but this evening is just different: and so I'll be different and have two coffee beers in a row...probably first had this beer while home in Mansfield, OH a couple of years ago...like it then...

Quite a nice Red Ale with a good balance of sweet malts and bitter, resinous hops, although perhaps just a tad too sweet for my personal taste, with that sweetness still being balanced out nicely by the bitterness in the finish though.

Holy crap!! Doesn't get much better than that! Those are some awesome trout my friend. I usually don't eat freshwater but those big babies pan fried a la meuniere in a cast iron over a fire by the river? Yesssss

Yea I love mead. It's easy to make; all you need is honey, soft water, yeast nutrient, and wine yeast. Takes about 20 minutes to make. Takes 6-12 months to be ready to drink. :+1:

Cleaning up the beer fridge a bit after receiving a beer delivery from my local brewery (Bare Hands) that included a couple of 4-packs (their first Pilsner and a Citra-hopped IPA) and a growler of their barleywine.

This is the greatest day in the history of my life.

But first, finishing off the 6er of this. It’s 3-1/2 months old (canned 1/4/20) and holding up exceptionally well for a Citra-hopped DIPA. Love it.

Trout (or, for that matter, any fish or critter) are generally beautiful creatures. Still, I eat 'em. My beef (no pun intended) is with people that hunt or fish just for trophies. When I fish, I catch one or two nice ones (if I'm lucky) and they're our supper meal. I stop angling after that and wait for another day.

Again, beauties that you guys got. You taught your son well!

A cellar pull tonight for COVID lock-up. This 2011 'Barley has been sitting long enough and needs a friend, Weyerbacher has long since done away with this label design so it's a liquid relic too!

Waiting for this one to warm up a bit before I start sipping. I will say that if it tastes half as good as it smells, I'm in for a treat. @ovaltine thanks for hooking me up with this.
