I haven’t touched my all grain stuff in a long time, but I still like to make extract IPAs from time to time. I can get something similar to an NEIPA juice bombs for around a third the price of a bottle shop. Really the only thing I make anymore, but I’ll probably continue to do so and just buy stouts/sours.

I think it would be more enjoyable if you buy a kegging set up (bottling sucks), but I haven’t done that yet!

That one, plus I have a clone recipe for Pliny the Younger that I'm curious to brew.

I have brewed my version of Pliny the Elder a few times with great success. Best of luck with your Pliny the Younger brew; I had the good fortune to drink this beer a number of times since it makes it's way to the Philly area.

    Cheers!

I have brewed regularly for several years and will continue to do so. I tend to focus on styles not all that widely produced by commercial breweries or hard to find in my area, so I guess in a sense I brew because of "shortages" I just brewed an Australian Sparkling Ale on Sunday more or less based on some Cooper's clone recipes I found. I'm looking forward to downing a few when hot weather finally rolls around.

I do the same. My last few batches:
    • Classic American Pilsner
    • Sabro IPA (I have yet to see a packaged beer that features Sabro hops)
    • My reconstruction of the original 1896 Michelob beer
    • Belgian Dubbel (since the imported Trappist Dubbels cost a fortune)
    • English style Oatmeal Stout
    Cheers!

    Will continue to brew.
Next up are a Vienna Lager and a India Pale Lager. Very much looking forward to both.

I'm going to restart small (i.e., one gallon batch) all-grain brewing. A peated porter is what I'm starting out with. And I foresee a chili beer soon following.

It's been a few years since I last did this, but I'm picking up my supplies later today (along with a few stogies from the home brew shop's partner business). Apparently the local home brew shop is considered and "essential" business just like the beer and liquor stores!

If anything I've brewed more. I currently have a full keg of an oatmeal stout, a rauchbier that's lagering, a tripel that I'm going to brew next weekend and I'm putting together a recipe for an imperial stout that I may use the second runnings for an English porter. So yea, I have to keep myself busy while not working so I don't rot my brain by playing video games all the time (which I have done a lot of as well)

Nope. I don't have the time to waste trying to brew a beer, when I can run to the store and pick up a case within 10 minutes. I also don't have anywhere to store a keg (or keep it cold), bottles, or any of the other equipment required.

Was hoping to but the kits I want are all sold out lol. Without fail. They aren't even fancy either. I still work from home so it isn't like I have a ton of new down time to kill anyways. But it would have been nice.

I’ve taken a two-year hiatus from brewing due to work schedule changes. I’m brewing a Pliny clone on Friday and a Belgian style quad on Sunday.
I have a keg of Baltic Porter (on sour cherries) that is pouring and tasting well after two years.

Nah. I never enjoyed it and lost the desire when I started being able to get basically anything from someone who brews better than I do. Even with the potential decimation of the industry, there are still plenty of beers I like that will still exist. Even the average ones will still be better (and more cost effective) than me attempting them.

I'm still brewing, going on almost 10 years now (hard to believe). I have no plans to stopping anytime soon.

Belgians have to be the most cost effective style to homebrew. Just did a Belgian golden strong and the 5.5 gallon batch probably cost about 35 bucks.

It's not hard for me to believe. I have been homebrewing for 25+ years (batch no. 453 in the primary 'as we speak').

Other folks (not you) may find this hard to believe but we homebrewers can produce 'better' beer than we can buy:
    • Recipes tailored to our own personal preferences
    • No economic need to 'cut' on ingredients or brewing process
    • The beers are always in prime condition - fresh and properly stored
    • etc.
I have not purchased an English brewed beer in over a decade, they have always been too old and stale for me. I stopped purchasing packaged German brewed beers for the same reason. I instead brew my own.

    Cheers!
