Aaargh, it would be, except I'm in PA indefinitely. If anyone wants to swap a 4-pack for some Tired Hands cans, we could do a quick USPS flat-rate trade . . .

A friend of mine is saying that they need to order a full solid case, rather than mixing a case. I can't imagine that's true but they seem to be pretty positive. Anybody know if that's accurate?

No you can mix a case with different beers

Seems like this happens EVERY time they update the store, see the instagram comments.

Well that’s the thing. I don’t understand why Veil continually praises WF as this incredible IPA they make when there have been 3 batches of it so far that were really great out of 11-13 times they’ve made it. Sounds like the OH version’s better than the average batch from Veil.

Also I think a lot of the animosity around Veil often stems from the gross trade value of some of their earlier beers (esp. b1 oreo Horns and those first few Horns batches).

I'm getting a lot of cascade now from this last batch of broccoli, which I guess... is as advertised?

Any thoughts on the new vapor ring release before I order some?

Also, re veil, I’m also not really a fan. The IPAs never did it for me and the sours are p good but not amazing

Anybody have an opinion on DDH Vapor Ringz vs. DDH Mylar Bags vs DDH Small Mosaic Everything? Thanks

Ive had a handful of Veil beers and they were just avg to me, never got the hype. I had one of the horn beers and it was good but nothing insane. The IPAs were avg and the fruited stuff was good but not really what I go after, and each time someone sent me one they never stayed cold enough to not fizz out like 1/3 of the can once i eventually opened it.

@algebeeric_topology convinced me to grab a 4 pack of All Strata and I just drank my last can. Best beer OH has put out in a long time. Grimm just posted a Lambo version with Strata, hoping that is just as good.

Ever since they upgraded the system years back, their IPAs have never really recovered.

That’s interesting about the fruit beers. They transitioned the nevers to not requiring cold maybe a year or two ago. Wonder if that might get them more volatile?

RVA folks circle jerk the Veil and the Answer.

Crazy that the veil makes mediocre beers considering Matt Tarpeys pedigree in brewing. Haven’t tried any of their wild beers but I would assume they would be top notch

and can you even call the Answer brewers lol. Their entire premise is based off of heavily adjuncting other peoples beers. And the beers they brew themselves, either suck or are heavily adjuncted as well. I guess they make cool glasses

also looking at the ‘gram stories - why is vapor ringz having to socially distance from the other cans?

I guess I hang out with a different crowd down here in Richmond; they all love Triple Crossing and think the Veil is overrated. Ironically though one of my favorite beers from last year was Apple Brandy Toast-e-coilz (an Other Half collab).

I’d agree with this. I know there are locals who are hardcore Veil and Answer fans, but I always seem to run into more people who prefer Triple. Also funny that every major Veil release always has more southerners (NC, SC, WV) than NOVA/DC people. Classic DC.
