Looking to trade a bottle of 2020 Surly BA Darkness for a fresh case of Pliny the Elder. I could also throw in anything hoppy from Toppling Goliath (King Sue, Sosus, NugMo, etc)

A case? Might be a little off here.

Yeah, that's fair. I would be more than ok with trading for fewer PtEs. Happy to negotiate.

Well here's how i see it, maybe im wrong.

BA Darkness is a $24 bottle, accessible in stores. Pliny is a $6-7 bottle. Multiple that by 12. Then add shipping. Probably looking at 4:1.

    But, maybe I'm wrong.

Yeah, true. BA Darkness is harder to find in the markets it serves. I was thinking 6:1 would be reasonable. Also why I offered to throw in TG 4 packs for Cali folks that don't have access to TG. Do you have access to fresh PtE?

Also, first timer here. I probably should have posted in the limited forum instead of the $4$ forum

I get it. Gotta start your first trade somewhere. Darkness sat on the shelves here in a Colorado for weeks. I have a buddy that lives in MN. Darkness is more accessible than you think.

Unfortunately i dont have access to fresh pliny.

Im sure someone from CA can help you out.

    Good luck!

    Cheers!

Are you referring to barrel-aged darkness though? Is that tougher to get?

also pte is an easy grab for a lot of Californians. Cost ~ $6-7 per 17oz bottle.

I'm offering BA Darkness - BA means barrel aged. That is a lot harder to find than regular Darkness. BA Darkness on the selves for a long time is surprising.

Correct barrel aged Darkness. I thought that's what BA stood for

I agree, that's why I initially made the case of PtE for BA Darkness suggestion. Thanks

BA Darkness is on shelves today, everywhere in MN. I could walk in to almost every liquor store right now and buy a bottle for $24. PtE is everywhere in CA.

This is a $4$ trade; BA Darkness has no scarcity edge over Pliny. This is a 1 bottle BA Darkness for 4 bottles of Pliny.

Thanks for the info, appreciate it. Surly is a staple in Des Moines and BA Darkness is very hard to come by. Good to know it's abundant in MN.

I guess we are just trying to help you. It's not a bad trade just the ratio needs to be more realistic.

For sure, I appreciate it. I didn't mean to be difficult, just wanted to distinguish between BA and non-BA. It looks like BA is plentiful in several markets.

BA Darkness sitting on shelves in downstate IL. Last year it sat so long I finally bought one after walking by it 4 or 5 times over a month. Still haven't drank it. So I walked on by this year's so far too. Three years ago it was held in back and disappeared quick. Now there's just so many options, including better priced local ones, that it just doesn't have the same pull it used to. I'd say 4 or 5:1 along with some fresh TG is fine. Just gotta find the person interested!
