I love the timing on this announcement taking place after the Anabasis on-sale. The people who would get upset over this are the ones already engaged in all sorts of shadiness so they're essentially shamed to silence unless they want to self-identify. Sure, there may be a legit reason you're picking up 25 bottles of Anabasis. Now come pick it up every day for the next week.

There are plenty of people picking up for more than 5 people just for La Coterie, so that’s not completely valid.

I was supposed to pick up for 10 people who are all completely real people who I regularly trade with or proxy Perennial/LC for.

Yeah, I figured it was just a way to limit the time a person is in the pick up line. Spread it out more and keep the flow smooth for curbside.

I get that for sure. I proxy for one guy for Perennial.

I also personally know people who 'proxy' for their wife, parents, siblings, and people in bourbon groups who are simply interested in growing their liquid 401K.

Anabasis sold out in about 2 minutes. This wasn’t some lottery where you can enter 500 of your closest friends for Masters tickets.

If someone here would be willing to grab some bottles of Fuzzy for me, message me please. Box of thank you beers with a return label in exchange. If not, I'll throw out a post in the ISO forums. Thanks!

I think you underestimate the planning that some of these people go through for a release like this. Lining everyone up to purchase during the announced time and having them all process individual orders with a single person as a proxy is similar to getting a bunch of people together to buy high demand concert tickets for a show. All it takes is a couple of the countless private FB groups to all try at once and there goes 50 bottles in an instant.

It's much easier to get people together to buy when there is an exact announced time, which there wasn't. The people who know what the beer is are almost all buying it for themselves, whether they mean to drink, trade, or sell. The people who don't know what the beer is aren't sitting there breathlessly refreshing the SP shop even if they told somebody they'd make an attempt to buy it. To think there was an army of online mules buying all the bottles for 1 person is a little tinfoil hat-ish.

2 minutes? That is stretching it a bit.

Is it? I think it did sell out in 2 mins. May have been less?

2 minutes seems accurate to me. At least from the moment I received notification via Instagram.

I had to be one of the last few dozen to get through as my first attempt failed. My confirmation email came at 4:05. I refreshed the screen right after I had a confirmed purchase and they were sold out of all 3 packages. So 2-3 minutes is definitely right.

And it only lasted that long because the packages had slightly staggered releases within that 2 minute period.

Hey guys, really sorry to be asking this here, but would any locals be willing and able to proxy my Anabasis package for me? I used a new proxy and just received an email from Side Project saying that they will not allow this proxy to pick up the beers due to his behavior towards members of the staff during pick-up. Quite embarrassed by that. Please DM me if you can, and again, sorry about this.

Yikes. Hopefully one of these locals can help you out after that curveball. Bummer. Good luck.

I imagine you have to be a real shit for that to happen as a proxy.

Wow. That's rough. Kinda want to know who this is if they are a BA so I can avoid them if they trade. Wish I could help out, but my friend is already on his way down right now and has met his proxy limit for pick up. Hope you find someone!
