Did you see that he posted elsewhere that he explicitly had some, though? Before this started, a few days after telling OP he didn't? I'm inclined to believe that, when he didn't have an incentive to lie, especially given that he's avoided explaining that part of this.

If @LGHT wants to clear that up, I would personally love to give him the benefit of the doubt and think others would too!

If it were my box I would try to obtain the original beer first or come up with a solution that you found acceptable. In this case it looks like he just threw something by you in an effort to make it go away. If it were me and after making an effort, I could not obtain the original bottle in question I would make an effort to go above and beyond with the replacement box understanding that you are going to be at minimum slightly disappointed from not receiving the primary bottle. It has been 20 days since you both determined the box was lost this is plenty of time to source the bottle that was in question.

The fact that he claimed having multiple bottles in multiple threads since then and that he mentioned how easy it was to obtain via secondary means to me he either
    A) had bottles he didn't want to trade (which he has denied and mentioned he was lying about)
or B) he didn't make an effort to obtain the bottles.

The fact that he did not ship the "agreed upon" bottle the second time shows lack of ownership in the trade and poor trading etiquette on his part. The box getting lost is certainly neither of your faults but it is common knowledge the onus is on the sender to get the beers from A to B. It is multiple things that happened after the box getting lost and @LGHT 's constant shifting of blame to everyone but himself that leads me to believe there are bad trader traits here.

At the time and date of the missing Hydra, @LGHT could have still scored one on a shelf. Depending on his exact location, it would probably have been an hour or so away, but they were out there. Most traders I know who have lost a box, would have made the drive.

Sorry for the late responses unfortunately, I've been working pretty much 10 hour days for the last few weeks which is the main reason I didn't give the trade the attention it needed after the box was lost. I posted that saying I have a few to drink, but in all honesty those are proxy bottles from a buddy that I will be drinking them with. He also only wants to keep 1 to try and asked me to try and trade the others for him. Which is why I was trying to trade a bottle for Xul in another post. I told op several times over let me know what you want to make it right and he was more than picking the 2 beers as replacements. In all honesty I was sort of occupied with other things going on in life and it never even dawned on my that would wouldn't be happy with the replacements and that I need to start looking for a hydra bottle. If he said hey I don't want replacement I want hydra I would have definitely done my best to get him one, but he never seemed upset, angry, or mad with the replacements.

At the time and date of the missing box I wasn't even in California. I know most guys are on lockdown, but sadly my workload doubled and I've been pretty busy ever since. Again I could have quickly and easy thrown up a big bottle to trade for one had the op asked me to, but he actually seemed fine with the bottles he picked as replacements. Had I know he was going to have a breakdown because he didn't get the bottle I would have sent him 2 hydra that I offered in the first place lol...

    @LGHT
A breakdown? @Jag237 has seemed pretty even keeled throughout this and you’re doing everything possible to look like a jerk. Please show us where the op has had a breakdown? I honestly believe you took advantage of the op and hopefully this is a lesson learned for him. He probably never had a situation like this occur and this was the time to step up. Plus usps priority has $50 free insurance and they pay out without question ( it’s happened to me before). So there’s money coming back to you. Also usps, to a fault ,always makes the greatest effort to make sure packages get delivered. I’ve had packages were a bottle broke and usps repacked my box and sent an apology letter. So many things just not adding up.

I will be the first person to apologize if you can prove that this is all a misunderstanding. There’s already 1 person that stood up for you and I commend them for that because many people would probably just keep quite. Stop making excuses , we all make mistakes @LGHT

You're absolutely right about this. To be honest I kind of felt badly and viewed a lost box as no one's fault and a shared problem. Hence why I offered to cover the extra shipping costs and also why I agreed to a lesser want. I had no idea at the the time that he not only had bottles but would also be able to get more. My original tradepost was literally just "ISO: Hypermash Hydra." He knew that was the beer I wanted and just didn't want to put forth the effort to make up for the lost one so he chose to offer something else and my mistake was being nice enough to say sure because him saying I don't have anymore bottles of Hydra led me to believe that beer was off the table.

So had you known I was going to have a "breakdown" you would have sent one but you didn't think to offer one after the first one was lost? Got it

To confirm, do you know what is being shipped to you in the 3rd box?

Supposedly a Cryo and one of the bottles I sent him that he didn't drink.

So why didn't you just trade your Xul for your buddy's Hydra and send it to Jag? It's what a good trader would've done and this whole situation could've been avoided.

Reading the other guy's explanations and posts got me feeling like this:

This guy shouldn't even be trading if he's (as he states himself) too busy to think about these things. This is how things fall through the cracks (at best, this is incompetence-- which I don't think is the case here) in beer trading. There are so many branch points here where this trainwreck could have been stopped by the trader in question, but nope. To summarize, this guy ended up having to send 3 separate boxes and OP still isn't getting the original beers he was promised. This is a case where literally anything that could go wrong, did and still is.

Yes it seems like from my peripheral perspective, that if you’re super busy with long hours, tons of traveling, lots of friends/proxies, and a personal assistant for the details...
you should probably just save some time. Don’t bother with the hassle of trading. Buy off the secondary market or have your many friends/proxies/assistants get bottles for you.
    Cheers.

That’s very nice of you all to give him the benefit of the doubt, but the guy was sent like 24 cans last year that he agreed to pay for and still hasn’t paid for. He was booted from various Facebook groups due to it. If something seems super suspicious here, your suspicions are well-founded because this guy is full of shit, frankly. The “trolling” (putting it nicely) and stretching the truth about what bottles were in his possession when was just lying.

I’m starting to suspect the “assistant” may not even be that easy on the eyes!

“Alexa, pack and ship my beer trade.”

C’mon Amazon, who cares if it turns on the lights. Give us the features we really need.

Is it just me or is everyone on the edge of their seat waiting for OP to get his replacement replacement box?
