Thanks everyone, fortunately for me someone was kind enough to reach out to help proxy, so all set now!

I reached out to the initial proxy through Instagram as he was responding to ISO proxy comments on the Anabasis post. Obviously somewhat risky to do, but I've done it before with no incidences. As far as I know he is not a member of BA. He apologized to me and provided a refund to the venmo I sent him.

 

This is pretty wild shit. I'm not sure how anybody could have issues with bottle pickup, its a pretty simple and clear cut process.

 

I want to know who it was.

I really don’t know how anybody could cause problems.

 

Obviously the comments are no longer on the release post, but I do recall one person replying to a lot of people with proxy requests. Don’t remember the account. Not sure it’s the same person either.

 

I could envision someone giving SP shit at pick up for limiting proxies to 5 after the sale. Especially if it was some shitlord who was trying to get rar beer from a lot of people around the country. Or worse. Honestly, with some of the behavior I'm seeing reported in BT and otherthreads, not sure much would surprise me right now.

 

I was envisioning someone upset about the five proxy limit, too. It’s dumb, but could see it escalate from there.

 

Not sure if @SpinSamzo and I are using the same proxy, but I also received an email earlier today from Rachel (Side Project) about an issue. I actually have used this person before, without a problem. And even after the 'incident' he was pretty chill about it.

I kinda don't want to push it, and ask what happened. I also don't want to put him on blast since I'm pretty sure most of you guys know him. I was lucky enough to make it to an event earlier this year, and the community seemed pretty chill and small enough. So weird though.

Anyhoo, I'm asking for any kind soul out there that can help proxy an Anabasis package, and send to California. I actually checked the STL Craft Burrito group that Kev mentioned but that looks like Muling is a no no on the rules....

Not having the whole story, and also not having a lot of in-person experience there, at the same time I'm not surprised. They were very strict and even testy about me coming in to the brewery 15 min before close, even though it was upon recommendation from the Cellar to pop over before close to try Quetsche du Fermier.

If they perceive you in any way to be trying to bend some rule they may have, you are instantly on the shit list, and they have their people's back no matter what the story is. I guess there's no on-site bottle sales after a certain time, and that's apparently supposed to be common knowledge...? At least that's how it felt, that's why I walked away without confrontation, even though I really wanted to try it and would have happily shared it with the whole room (which had various patrons with unfinished bottles). Such a sad story

Anyway, this guy could have very well deserved it, but like I said, wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't all that egregious either.

 

Are you saying you're not familiar with the concept of last call?

 

I might be able to proxy, shoot me a message and set expectations. Im a proxy virgin. (Ill be picking up my Anabasis next week)

That said, they were perfectly happy with me ordering draft (which I declined...for reasons I won't mention). So, there was no last call. It's not a sports bar--do they actually call out last call? I can't imagine. It was...whatever it was. You tell me. As I said, lots of people had half full bottles and there's no way all of those people were about to chug their bottles in order to leave right at close. But hey maybe that's another rule I'm unfamiliar with

Showing up to any establishment 15 minutes before close without being a known regular is usually going to result in you not being served anything. If I remember correctly the cellar and brewery always did last call about 30 minutes to close, which is pretty standard.

 

Yes, right, understood. I don't normally do that, but again, staff at the Cellar recommended I go as I was headed out the door with my multiple cases of beer.

It's not like they close late in the evening or something, which is another thing that's wild to me. The sun was still out for like 3...? more hours.

damn i’m even more confused. i think my definition of proxy is wrong

anyway when it comes to cash that’s a red flag for me, i’m always down to send thank you beers, but i also try my best to return the favor if can as well.
