I was being a complete smart ass. Sorry about that. Over in TG land that's what many "proxies" were asking for. I felt like it was ridiculous. If I had won Assassin and was going, I would've taken up a few for a label and a simple thank you box of locals that I don't see distro of just to undercut them. Might have done that here, but didn't because that's against the rules :sunglasses:

proxy/mule however it's called, I wouldn't expect anyone to go to the brewery, pick up the beer, package them up safely, and ship them off, for free (excluding shipping costs). I'm happy to trade for beers too, although that's a bit more difficult to do now in NYC, and I'm trying to avoid going outside to the best of my ability.

SP reason for allowing proxies = sell more inventory allowing staff to be employed and continue to brew beer.

Locals perception of proxies if you’re not glued to your frickin phone on a Sunday afternoon when you’re trying to make the best of self quarantine by going for a walk. SP proxies = CA & NY sh**lords getting way too many bottles.

Return from walk. You’re f’d. Rationalize that it’s just beer. Go for another walk.

I would say $10 is typical, although could be higher if it's the dead of winter, or a release that requires a lengthy waiting time on line. I think people asking for the second bottle of Assassin for the TG release is pretty outrageous.

Well someone charged $80 for assassin proxying. Maybe he’s nicer than those asked for a assassin bottle lol.

Please, no need to be embarrassed. Proxies are welcome, we are obviously allowing them. This person continually broke rules and was then rude to a staff member. Thats where I drew the line. I am sorry to all of the people that he was proxying for, but times are already tough enough and there are so many of you who are great, reasonable, polite, understanding, love our beer, want to support us, etc., I rather just deal with you. Sorry for the inconvenience, but if we need to hold your order longer to find another proxy, its A-OK.

You've never really like us for some reason. Your post is not related to this issue at all, you're trying to draw parallels that don't exist.

Thank you so much, and additional kudos to your staff who were great to communicate with via email. I let them know that I have another proxy who can pick up for me

I was reading until the end of the thread thinking the same thing...It’s just beer and there will always be another time/beer!

This has got to be one of the weirdest things I've ever woken up to. And who exactly am I, to you? Do you have some kind of record on me? Like seriously, what are you talking about? Wow :open_mouth::joy:

That's got to be one of the most absurd things I've ever heard a business owner say to me. I've probably made far more positive and neutral posts here about SP and Shared than negative, and have also written tons of glowing reviews about the brew. If you can't handle a very thin slice of humble pie mixed in, I don't know what to tell ya.

If you're referring to that day I was visiting, which you weren't there so I don't know how you possibly could be, I had a great time that day at the Cellar, up until walking into the brewery. Then went on my way and continued to have a great time elsewhere. There's nothing wrong with commenting on the personalities I and others have encountered there. Most people don't bring it up because the beer speaks for itself, but it's always been there and I'm not averse to bringing it up.

Regardless, the parallels are there, in part via the passive-aggressive way you treat patrons at the sudden turn of a hat. Exhibit A being this response right here. Nice one :ok_hand:

    Ugh. Anywho...

As others have said, thank you for allowing proxies at this time. It is greatly appreciated. Scoring a bottle of Anabasis was a bright moment in what has been some strange times. I hope this is generating some revenue for you and your staff. I guess what I was referring to earlier is that arranging for proxies on BA is against the rules. Regardless, my friend picked up yesterday and said it was a quick and easy process!

Most all of us have been in the SP threads for years and have fairly good memories. You have been the only one to bring negative energy here that I can ever remember. Play the victim elsewhere. We DNGAF.

Moving on! I’m also extremely thankful that proxies have been allowed (and mine is ITT and I’m very thankful for him!! ) since it hasn’t been prudent for me to make my regular trips up to STL. I very much miss being able to spend time at Side Project and can’t wait to spend an evening at the bar with “the personalities” of some of my favorite ppl who happen to stand behind it!

I have no bones about that. I bring negative energy when it merits it--I don't play favorites. But this thread is one of a few I've probably been the least negative in. I'm not an eternally positive person. I do not believe that is productive, and often find it detracts from the usefulness of a thread.

Doesn't anyone appreciate consistency anymore? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

BA acquiesced to the apparent will of its users and the breweries it supports and opened a Proxy/Trustee board here:
