Well, I can report that I have zero insights here.

    Maybe some other BA does?

    Cheers!

The DDH milkshake sold out online at the ferm in minutes - I had it in my cart at 11:37 (went on sale at 11:30) and it sold out as I was putting in my credit card info.

DDH Galaxy is essentially the Vanilla shake with a dry hop charge of Galaxy right? Very excited, Galaxy is my favorite.

There’s definitely ways to create that difference in perceived bitterness, mouthfeel etc

    -Dry Hopping Vs Kettle hopping
    -Soft vs hard water
-adjuncts in the malt bill like oats and wheat
    -biotransformation from yeast/fermentation

Yeah I'll be interested to hear what people think of it on this board. Galaxy has been so hit it miss this past year. And might just be my personal milkshake burn out but I wasn't enjoying them as much, except the peach single, which for some reason seems to have the most mild creaminess so it still seems more like an IPA

Yeah having another THANK YOU by LLC (triple Galaxy). Not bad, but more herbaceous qualities than peak Galaxy beers. So yeah wonder how it's DDHing affects the vanilla milkshake double

have not heard of any galaxy beers being good lately and a lot about bad aussie hops...

Twas ever thus, especially the past 4 or 5 years. Maybe because there have been more and more SNTs.

The latest batch of Alien Church canned on 4/21/20 is awesome. Liking that more than Sunny Day, and Sunny Day is definitely good.

I'll second this. Enjoying this most recent batch of AC more than the LLC drop AND the DDH Galaxy shake.

Had one of my Milkstaves cancelled. Oh well, replaced it with a Helles which I’m more than happy about.

gonna dig into the Galaxy shake tonight. My favorite hop by far so super excited. Hope Tired Hands galaxy selection isn’t plagued with the same issues as Other Half’s

My thoughts exactly. I've enjoyed the LLC beers a lot, but haven't been blown away by them. Sometimes a predictable, comforting, (and high ABV) DIPA or TIPA is just what the doctor ordered.

FWIW, I placed a Dudley order on Monday and received it today, in the Poconos, pretty much 48 hours later exactly. My only regret is not waiting until yesterday, when they released Punge :slight_frown:

Cracked open a DDH Galaxy shake today. Super solid but the 4.5+ rating on Untappd is definitely a result of it selling out ASAP

getting no pineapple or citrus that I normally get from a good galaxy beer. I think the other half issues aren’t just other half. It’s across the board

anyways, straight vanilla. Basically a vanilla shake but with more hop character. What’s funny is that I’m getting more vanilla here than a double vanilla shake

I had my first can of the 4/21/20 batch of Alien Church last evening and I agree 100%: "AWESOME"!!!!

I just wish every batch of Alien Church could be like this one but...

    We should enjoy the moment!

    Cheers!

Popped one based on the glowing reviews in this thread, and chiming in to third the suggestion that this AC batch is very, very good. Glad I picked it up last week, because I've been skipping it on trips to Tired Hands for the past year or so.

You're not the only one. Being a huge fan of galaxy hops, I was really stoked for this one... and really let down. While still a decent beer, it wasn't the galaxy bomb I was expecting. Straight vanilla, like you said. Hopefully a citra version is on the way and they get it right.

Do they allow proxy pickups? My friend will be passing by the ferm tomorrow and he said he will pick up my order for me if they allow.
