Have a good Wednesday. Was playing Borderlands 2 all night this time. Finally got the hang of it after playing the first one for a while before returning to where I was stuck. Got my gun arsenal fixed up. Have a really nice sniper with fire elemental damage, and a leveled up assault rifle. I have been doing side quests and looting to find better shields and guns. I got a cheap $9 USB guitar interface in the mail yesterday. It’s acceptable; sometimes there is some popping sounds and stuff when I play loud, but generally the tone through BIAS FX2 is very nice. I think I will try using my Creative xFi card plus a noise gate pedal before the input. The device itself does have some noticeable noise, but nothing I can’t filter out after I record it. Just have to play with it a bit, probably buy a well priced device later on when I actually have a job again. Focusrite seems to be the crowd favorite. The clean signal sounds great, when you add distortion and effects is when the flaws get noticeable.

Founders 4 Giants. Amazing DIPA. Lasting rocky head retention/thick foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, honeydew, watermelon, red apple, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, peppercorn, and pine hops; with moderate cracker, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness. on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Very smooth, not overly aggressive, minimal warming 9.2%. They claim 7 hop varieties on the website, I already knew what to expect going in. Feels like mostly Centennial, Columbus, Amarillo, Simcoe, and El Dorado. Very vibrant, juicy, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized bready Munich malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Another top tier classic tasting DIPA.

    Good morning, all.

An English bitter ale for lunch, paired with carrots, tomatoes and olives.

Light lunch, light beer and that’s fine for now.

Good day BAs! Another damp morning so I'll putter around inside the garage today - should finish shaving the apple logs I'll use for smoking. They're going to start lifting restrictions Friday, so look for an upswing in virus diagnoses in a week or so. I'm going to continue to keep a low profile.

[IMG] This may be the perfect morning NEDIPA, soft and creamy from the added lactose and a bunch of tangerine. Cheers all.

A cold and rainy day in Chicago, glad April is ending soon.

On tap to start the day, Tome. A few days older than two months, looks a little darker than from original purchase. Would drink these within 4-5 weeks in the future.

The only sun I'll likely see today.

Southern Tier Nitro Chocolate Milkshake. Amazing sweet stout. Lasting thick creamy head retention/lacing the whole glass. Flavors of huge milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, fudge, brownie batter, biscuit, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, roasted nuts, smoke, molasses, dark fruit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. A bit muted aromas. Very mild herbal, grassy, roasted bitterness on the finish. Light carbonation and very full body; very creamy, silky, velvety, bready malts/lactose; slight slickness, sticky hops, and chalky roast in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; zero cloying sweetness. Amazingly smooth/soft, zero warming 10%. Amazingly balanced super rich malts and flavorings; with just enough hops to balance. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Tastes just like a dark chocolate milkshake all around. No artificial flavors. Sea salt added to enhance flavors, rather than be noticeable. Not as mind blowing as the S'mores, but it ranks very high on their overall Blackwater series dessert segment.

    Something different.
Fremont's Dark Star, Imperial Oatmeal Stout. 8.2%
Always good - falls in between the dry Irish stout I typically drink, and those rare 10+ % imperials that lay waste to my day. This is just roasty, just sweet, enough - great with breakfast. Not hot, has a chocolate nib profile, and the toasted malt flavor is fantastic. Cheers.

That puzzle looks too difficult for me. Two pieces per half day sounds about right. You should finish in the summer of 2021.

Today's T or C Brewery choice is Parasol, a blonde ale. Another sunny day, only supposed to be in the 80s. Pool time!

Clear, deep gold colored body; excellent carbonation; very thick, rocky, sticky white head; sheets of foam cling to the inside of the glass. Ripe mango and apricot in the nose. Light bread crust malt backbone augmented with some quiet fruity esters and a pleasing, moderate hop bitterness on the back end. Medium body; crisp and dry.

This is a fine collaboration pale ale. It is nicely balanced and complex with some outstanding eye appeal.
