Hear, hear. April 9th bottling date here and the same snappy, spicy, grassy hops punch and delicate sweet malts I remember. Summer must be just around the corner.

I quit buying it because I was getting the occasional off-flavors in six packs. I don’t know the cause.

Agreed on your take of this beer. I’ve always felt it leaned a more German.

Spending more time in Europe, and online in the respective beer country forums. Mainstream American craft beer scene departed from my interest a long time ago and the freshness problem on things I did like became unbearable.

I’m fascinated to see some familiar names still here given the exodus to other social media outlets.

You need to start a thread on your rediscoveries (maybe you have?).

I'm not quite done with the first six pack yet but I passed by more six packs yesterday bottled 04/08 and I had to grab another for the fridge, this beer remains one of my favorites.

Had my first bottle Saturday night--and will be the first on this thread to agree with the OP. It's almost like there was some sort of mistake when it was bottled or something--it almost tastes like some pale ale was mixed with it or something--or some piece of equipment was not properly cleaned before the Summerfest was bottled. The aroma wasn't that pleasant when initially opened as well.

We'll see if the others in the six pack are similar...I'm very surprised, I didn't expect mine to have issues since I bought it in WI and the OP is in AL

Sounds like you should have bought a 12 pack.

Ha ha indeed. But so far I have seen only one place with a 12 pack of cans and in my neck of the woods two sixers or one twelve are about the same price so nothing lost really there either.

I actually constructed a post on this topice but I did not hit "Post Reply" since some BA is bound to complain about this sort of discussion.:grimacing:

Wasn't Summer Fest released in Jan (sorry had to get the seasonal creep in :stuck_out_tongue:)

I have not seen it around to be honest, so no bottles consumed for me.

    Cheers

Eh don’t worry, Summerfest 2021 is coming out in June. Seasonal creep has come full circle so everything is normal again.

LOL I was going to say we should be discussing Oktoberfest since that will be brewed in July/Aug and for sale not too far down the road.
