While lactose still reigns supreme on my shitlist, coconut doesn't lag far behind. Fields of Tall Grass has been a coconut bomb to me from the get-go, and despite that, I still like the beer. It's hard to get past the coconut at this point, but try hard and you'll find a really good beer is behind it. Alternatively, have the beer with some spicy food -- Indian, Ethiopian, etc. -- where coconut is a flavor that "makes sense", and the beer pairs wonderfully.

Coconut is incredible in beer -- IPAs, stouts, cream ales, -- and I will fist fight anyone arguing otherwise.

I'm on the same team, but this one is incredible for how strong the coconut profile is without there being any coconut in the beer.

Stouts - while I don’t generally like it myself (there are one or two exceptions) I can get the argument. But nobody should ever nut in my IPA

What about sabro, it isn't a nut just a hop that reminds people of coconut?

Did everyone catch that? He changed 'incredible' to 'incredibly bad.' What acerbic wit!

Haven't had Finback in a while but really enjoying this Something Blanc I picked up today. Nice light fruit notes up front, subtle honey/dank in the finish. So excited to hit their taproom when things open back up.

I like coconut when it's well blended. Isn't that kind of true for almost every common addition?

my neighbor dropped off a few finbacks for me, and totally agree on the earlier sentiments... this stuff is great. I only had their flagship IPA in the past and had no idea they had opened that shop in gowanus. the dark sky stout from last month was amazing, and this sour (starship) I grabbed yesterday is damn tasty. the something blanc was also damn good. the only other wine-esque IPA i've tried was whichever the trillium series does, and this one wins hands down.

That’s sound advice. I think we actually have curry on the family menu next week, so I’ll report back.

Another idea: I had a Fields of Tall Grass as my first beer of the weekend, which made everything better. This way there was no Rolling in Clouds first to make me think less of it.

All of the things I have bought from the new location have absolutely slapped. Wonderful addition to the neighborhood and I cannot wait to sit my ass in there for hours a week.

Just grabbed a 4 of the oscillation that dropped today. I’m liking this new thing near my hood.

Drinking my first Oscillation 20 and it's very tasty- overripe fruits, touch of pine. If you're on the fence I recommend you fall off it ASAP and grab a 4pk.

Sadly haven't had a Finback since the world fell apart in mid-March, but for the 4-6 mos prior to that (at least), I thought they had been killing it, and I felt like people were totally sleeping on it... glad to see they are still cranking out excellent, and perhaps even better stuff,

Preach. 020 is the gospel; perfectly balanced.

Yellow Cake hits BK tomorrow as well.

+1 on how good 20 is. Perpetual pilsner is great too. I love that I was able to get these at the grocery store.

For anyone who might be debating the purchase, Sixth Year is certainly hot, but unquestionably headed upward and to the right.

Heading over to the brewery after work. I hope they still have some of the Osc 20 you all are raving about.

I'm bummed it went so quickly in the online store. I grabbed 3 4s last week and tried nabbing more once I opened it.
