Seems like it's been a bit since we've had an avatar thread. I tend to give more "likes" to folks who have Doggers in their avatars. How do fellow users avatars effect your on-line interactions?

I always ignore anyone with an anti-FOMO avatar... except for right now.

There is nothing worse than the unimaginative users with a glass of beer for an avatar. Make an effort!

I think the only bias I have is when I see someone that has similar musical tastes as myself, they may get an extra like. Other than that I just use them to quickly recognize posters, but then you have folks like @Mister_Faucher and @guinness77 (both posters I like reading their opinions) that change up fairly often and completely throw me off.

I'm almost embarrassed you even mentioned my name. Chalk it up to Seasonal Affective Disorder. It's a thing here. I still love you.

Agreed, the lack of effort is profoundly disturbing.

I used to change mine often, but the graphics guy at work made this one for me at the height of the linelife/truckchasing movement, and I've just stuck with it.

Mine is just a phone of myself - although I've got even more hair since this quarantine started.

It’s funny because i do like to switch avys often. The only common bond is I prefer a black and white photo. It lends better to the ascetics of a forum. I kept the Donnie Darko one for a loooooong time which was weird for me.

A picture says a lot and I have no reason to hide what I look like. Anything I would say on here, I'd say to your face and have no need for anonymity. I'm a black guy who runs a pretty reputable beer shop in my area, so that's what you can gather from my avatar. As for other's avatars I like to see the other people's pictures because I have fun trying to imagine what they would sound like when they post.

Anyone who has their own pic as an avatar must either need attention or have a big ego. This excludes myself, of course.

Haven't noticed the two-masted sailboats or public sex avatars, so there is that.

Avatars mean nothing to me as far as as 'likes' (although sailboat content has been known to give me a chubby)...

I am partial to doggie avatars sporting THE® Ohio State University logos.

I enjoy seeing avatars I've seen on this site for a long time, gives me a feeling of "the good old days". I sometimes look at my own avatar here, though, and think to change it to a musical icon I enjoy more frequently nowadays, but keep it for the reason in the previous sentence.

Some avatars are just downright goofy, but that's okay. After all, it's just an identifier. (And it's not Elton John's pic.)
