I finally cracked my bottle of hypermash. It truly is the shit. I would recommend not trying to finish the bottle by yourself though.

 

Weight Ratios is great. Wish there was even more hazelnut but I can't complain.

 

Caveat: I find Bottle Logic BA to be too spirit-forward for my personal tastes.

But I tried Red Eye November on tap in December and really enjoyed it. I ended up buying a bottle (2019). Well, I cracked the bottle open today and the coffee has mostly faded, and it just reminds me of normal Darkstar Nov, which I'm not a fan of. It just tastes mostly of boozy bourbon now and that rye spiciness.

So question: Does Bottle Logic frequently produce Red Eye November? I'd love to try another bottle, but fresher.

Anybody try the current PCC yet? If it's even half as good as last year I'm all in.

 

I hope you scored some bottles! I was able to try this year's vintage with a ST bottle and it's fantastic. Blueberry is certainly there while the bourbon note is more pronounced than last year's. Sweetness and mouthfeel are on point. I have a feeling that a bit of age on this will soften the bourbon while the blueberry will hold strong, despite typically wanting to drink fruit adjuncted beers sooner than later.

 

I tried one and it was good, but not as much berry as the first one. More barrel and still a bit hot. The problem is if you let them sit too long more than 6 months the blueberry starts to fade. I think the peak for this one will be around 4 months.

 

Last years, was stunning. I'm a tad worried if it's hot. In my experience heat will taper off a bit. But a subtle fruit like blueberry doesn't keep up with age. Thanks for the input

I feel like if you hop on the eventbrite page saturday night you'll find out, or maybe sunday around noon? It would follow the pattern, since it'll have been 2 weeks since PCC b2 was announced and they've been cranking them out pretty regularly.

Seriously, I spent this quarantine hoping to burn through some backlog but I somehow have added another box to my closet instead. That Saving Throw bonus allocation has been brutal on the wallet.

 

Is that Ghost Proton (BA smores) making its way to bottles? Drank a b1 Staff of Asir last night, and wow! That creamy vanilla macadamia is insanely good! Hoping the '20 bottle is comparable

 

Ghost Proton was one of the "preview" beers I believe, so that should be coming back in bottles? Looking forward to that and Intrepid Orchid someday

 

@bottlelogiclindsay speak of the devil... Intrepid Orchid is the next bottle release! So stoked, this was my favorite one from March, which seems like it was 3 years ago somehow.

 

Anyone know if Details and Dialects is coming back, or if that was a one-off brew?
