How does your avatar affect your online interactions?

I recognize the avatar before the name, so all y'all who keep changing avatars are beginning to damage my calm.

The avatar is responsible for 85% of recognition of "who it is."
Name is 10% and language/tone/beer choice is 5%.
(all stats are true but made up)

For all of you who are only keeping the same avatar out of laziness... or think that it's meaningless, just remember that changing your avatar here is like someone in your family mind-swapping with a different body.

Same avatar across all platforms. Just some stencil graffiti from my old neighborhood circa 2006 in Grand Rapids that I really liked and feel reflects how I deal with the world. In theory, I'm totally anti-establishment, but in reality, I'm super-pissed about folks that don't follow the rules. Same as Walter Sobchak.

This isn't my first username or my first avatar on BA.

A very close long term friend from another forum died last year and the avatar I use now is their old avatar from the site we would hang out on.

 

My avatar is me 20 years ago. In Washington (the state) at my youngest brothers wedding.
He is not married any more and him and his "common law" wife live with me now.
I don't look much different now, but I lost the hat and now wear a BA hat.
Because I am a bald guy who looks good in a hat!
Don't have much use for a suit these days either.
Life story in a nutshell!

I like Avatar's as it's quick way for me to identify other BAs...Well, at least the one's who have an avatar. I have used the same avatar for almost 20 years (started in another sports forum). Growing up, I was consistently getting "most improved" awards, even from the sames coach the following year (of course, better getting awards than none!). Plus, Underdog was a cartoon in the 70s that I loved to watch.

Back to beer...

Well, so you like to be embarrassed, mister faucher, I DONT THINK SO... Thats why i am a hero, a biblical figure, an avid urban flamingo hunter, without avatar but so blessed with mystery that even religious people read my works on a regulär basis, and i am find with that. Not honored, not angry, not flattered, sometimes willingly impaired though... But i find that, they have good taste, at least they know im speaking the truth
