Sipping on this while putting up the Christmas tree...this beer is awesome, like drinking Girl Scout thin mint cookies

    Quoting myself. I know.

But that book back there was a gift from my wife about Pennsylvania breweries. It's not that interesting, more like a tourists guide for PA breweries.

Anyway, it's from like, 2004. I noticed today in the introduction there's a shout out to BeerAdvocate. They name us as a close second to some other site I won't mention, that kind of looks like a messy AngleFire site. Most excitement I've gotten from the book.

Anxiously awaiting a beermail as partial payment for some graphic design from a new brewery. Supposed to be delivered today, but who knows.

Seems like I'm buying one every time I go to the store...

    Founders Bolt Cutter American barleywine:

It's interesting how each time I have this beer (this is my 3rd in the past couple of weeks), I pick up on different characteristics. It didn't blow me away the first time I had it, but it was good. Now I'm appreciating more fully that it is (typical of all Founders beers) a staunch representative of the style. Real good drinking. Cheers.

Lancaster Winter Warmer...even though its not that cold in Philly!

Pours darker than I expected and with a minimal head. Relatively light and easy drinking for close to 9%...definitely malty with sweet undertones, not much in the way of spices or hops.

So I started out with my last SN Tumbler. Good, easiy-drinking beer, but not overly aromatic or flavorful. Currently working on BBC Oktoberfest Lager. First time with this beer and I'm very much impressed. It is quite possibly my favorite of the style. Only one thing I found a bit starnge...did anyone else notice a tangy, yogurt-like aroma and taste with this beer?
