Kane Brewing (2020)

Well I couldn’t resist putting a delivery order in today. Especially after hearing good reviews here for the Double Ripple. After enjoying some lighter lagers yesterday and commenting how much I’m enjoying the lower ABV beers I went ahead and ordered two DIPAs and the new TIPA (in addition to Sideshore and Cloud Cover). I’m a weak man.

 

especially when you consider HH is 6.6% and SB is 5.4%, and the frequent party waves is 7.4%.


Perusing through their IG posts since mid-march it seems they've been doing waves (lol) they're release some 5-7.5%, then some DIPA/TIPAs. Given their recent releases - I wouldn't be surprised if they released a non-xPA and/or something under 6.5% this week.

 

Yeah, I didn't want to dive into a ton of detail b/c I was busy with work, but you can legitimately get HH/SB any time direct or at most retail locations and Party Wave has been available pretty consistently since end of 2019. I feel they hardly release many triple IPAs, I know there is one now, but usually they are all sub 8% for the most part, with a few outliers. More lower ABV than some of our NY neighbors lol

 

Yes. Kane usually saves its high ABV beers for their bottle releases. Which is nice.

 

Let us know your thoughts on them. . . Considering getting more double ripple but the fridge is pretty damn full.

 

Well I don’t normally drink during the week (with the exception of grill night) but I couldn’t resist trying a Double Ripple while painting my basement earlier. Have to say it was really good!

 

Damn it looks like Open Water is already gone

 

Weird. Maybe its not gone? Not listed on Instagtam story of availability but still listed for purchase of the Kane Direct site.

 

I feel like someone mentioned it not being update correctly the other day too @Dreamer57 so you may be in luck.

 

id assume it was an error, unless it was a really small batch it shouldnt be gone that quickly

I remember being underwhelmed by Digital Sea originally, but then I went back and I gave it 4.25s each time I had a can. What was the other beer that came out the same time as this did originally? Maybe I disliked that one more

 

I think it was Brighten The Corners?

 

Would love to hear some thoughts on Stacking Casks (either blend) from anyone who has had it. How does it compare to other Kane barleywines?

 

I have enjoyed both. They are pretty complex from the different barrels and i am sure not everyone digs that but i thought they were great.

 

I was underwhelmed by that original batch as well, but I looked it up and it was secret mezzanine.

I had Blend 1 and liked it a lot. Blend 2 might be getting cracked tonight

I ended up just having a can of DDH Sneakbox last night, but I will likely be opening this bottle sooner than later. Will report back!

 

What did people think of the new Open Water, I was tempted but I didnt want to get a 10%er right now. Doubled up on Party Wave and SBX and got some Sideshore. They dropping Party Wave today push me to pass on Digital Sea

 

I had one. It was ok but I wish I got two four packs of Double Ripple instead.
