    Good day advocates!

La charmeuse, a local pale ale, bought at ALDI early this morning. It’s good, plenty of citrus in it.

I ain’t as good as I once was.

Or if not a fan of « popular » Toby Keith; better listen to a more unknown dude from Idaho, Layce Whitworth:

Good day BAs! @Shanex, thanks for starting today's thread! A cool, cloudy morning with no rain last night. If we get 48 hours in a row with no rain, the governor will declare a drought. Aldi's in PA don't sell alcohol but that's been covered in other threads. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

OK (3.8), but what the oats and dry-hopping add isn't worth the additional cost.

Have a good Thursday. Had a pretty wild early day yesterday. Slept most of the afternoon and then early evening and woke up at 5AM. Not sure what today will bring. Might be in the market for a new monitor soon. I am getting blackout and line flickering. I tried messing with the refresh rate with modest success, for now. I was running 60hz, but native is 75hz for mine as I found out. I got my Xbox 360 back up and running. I am planning on getting Red Dead Redemption off the Live store, as it is only for console, unlike the 2nd one which is also on PC.

Revisiting Right Brain Barrel Aged Sour CEO stout exactly 2 years later! Cellared the entire time. This is still tasting awesome. No gusher, but elevated carbonation. Aromas and flavors of big nutty dark roasted coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, whiskey, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with some modest notes of tart/sour cherry, cranberry, lemon, raisin, red grape, green apple/skin, funk, smoke, char, pepper, hay, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light roast/char bitterness, Brett/bourbon/oak spiciness, and lactic tartness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and lightly sticky/chalky/tannic/acidic mouthfeel. Lightly increasing dryness from roast bitterness, oak/Brett spiciness, and tang/tartness. Very smooth/soft, zero warming 5.5%. Only significant changes are a bit more tartness and Brett funk, but otherwise aged great for the ABV. 4.1

Had this stuck in my head for 3 days, and just now giving it a listen. This was one of the first DT albums I listened to as I got into them in 2004-05. I have pretty much all of their music memorized at this point. I already spun the whole album once this morning.

Speciation Mutational Meltdown. Amazing dark sour. Great head retention/spotty lacing. Fantastic clarity. Aromas and flavors of big tart/sour cranberry, raspberry, red grape/wine, orange zest, lemon, lime, raisin, fig, date, apricot, green apple, nutty medium roast coffee, cocoa nibs, vanilla, rye whiskey, toasted oak, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of hay, straw, grass, leather, smoke, peppercorn, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate lactic tart/sourness, tang; light Brett/oak/tannin spiciness and roast bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation and body; balanced creamy/bready malts, lactic acid/tang, and light sticky/chalky/tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tannic dryness; zero puckering sourness. Dangerously smooth/soft, not overly lactic, minimal warming 8%. Perfectly balanced Brett/Bacteria complexity, cocoa nib, coffee, vanilla, orange zest, and rye whiskey barrel complexity; with a nice sized dark/bready malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering acidic/tangy dryness. They nailed this out of the park. 4.38

Yep. Another DbC, only 12 more to go from my massive fall haul at my local.
Hope y'all are well today; and I gotta stop taking the bait on the other threads (hard when you're an educator, you miss students, and people need some... context). Ch-ch-ch-cheers!

Grand Theft Auto 5 is free on Epic Games store this week. It will be up for download at 11AM.

Great Notion Juice Jr. Excellent NEIPA. Great rocky head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, blueberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light biscuit/toasted malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready/grainy malts, sticky hops, and some resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing resin dryness, no hop astringency. Nicely smooth/soft, minimal warming 6%. Awesome Mosaic showcase. Super juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great clean wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. No complaints. Loved the hop profile as expected.

Happy Wednesday Beer Advocates! Today's theme will be to honour Wisconsin and celebrate the reopening of bars and breweries in many areas of the state. First pour today, a nice way to start the day, Wisconsin Belgian Red. I picked this up last August, it's held up well in the cellar / fridge, and is an excellent pour.

Hoping the rain lets up so I can pick up my second large beer haul later today. Cheers to another get day to be alive, and may good pours and the simple joys of life be with you and yours.

Celebrate, your local bar and brewery will open soon!

Another Wisconsin Road Trip is in order.

    Morning!

Only one Ghost in the Machine left. I think I need to make a "local" run this weekend anyway; with any luck, they got in a fresh batch.

    Cheers!
