Time for some cake... Yellow Cake (lemon/vanilla/lactose IPA from Finback in collaboration with Crooked Run), that is!

    Review here!

#2, there’s a carb issue with this beer - I straight poured it vertical, nary a bubble of head. Second can this happened with. The flavors are pretty solid, though - nice barrel presence and a load of mocha/cocoa flavors.

Beautiful peach glow to the body, soft and warm in appearance; head is thick and frothy. Freshly squeezed orange juice on the nose. Mild malt taste, biscuit and cracker; orange and lime citrus; acidic and bitter. Heavy body; creamy and velvety; acidic with a dry tartness.

This is a new brewery for me, and the first beer is mighty tasty, a great example of what I believe a New England IPA should be, especially hitting the fresh citrus element and not coming across like old, stale citrus rind. This beer nails the good elements of the NEIPA style.

...saw my neighbor across the street, still recovering from his second knee replacement this year...thought he could use a pain killer, so brought him over a choice of beers - he opted for the Gold Buckle Beer, I had the Colorado S.M.a.S.H....good to talk with him and drink beer straight from the can...

Well, beer in hand, and trippin' on how good Michael McDonald was all those years ago.
Also I keep forgettin' how good ORB's saisons are. I might be buying more of this, over their hazies, this summer. So damn refreshing. Cheers!

Thank you for kind words. It’s a little unnerving and I do wish I was kidding but unfortunately not. Definitely don’t want to kill the mood in wbaydn or try to seem like a pity party.

I’m going to lay off the sauce, caffeine and sugar, maybe have just one beer every several days if I can handle it and if the doctor says it’s ok. It’s the little things to keep morale up on top of everything else on the world right now. Not trying to get too personal.

anyways here a ratatouille I just made because we can all use more fresh veggies in our life. Hope it’s ok I post food here.

Stellar Paralax DIPA from Aslin. Tasting great right now, which is nice since Aslin has been pretty inconsistent lately with their IPAs.

Tired Hands Oblivex DIPA, 9.2% ABV. Every time I buy this, one of my favorite TH beers, I regret not buying more. Went for four 4-packs of home delivery this time, which will make me happy, as well as a couple of BAs whose beer boxes needed just a little more love. Very good batch, by the way.
