Adaptation, Evolution, and Survival: A Take on Craft Beer "Innovation"

    An interesting article on BeerSimple this weekend, about the necessity of adaptation and innovation for craft breweries in the current economic/pandemic climate.

    Obviously, there are a number of interesting (if already discussed…) points in the article, but the one that I found most interesting is the prediction that the craft beer scene will pivot away from one-off “experiential” beers and back to more affordable “flagship” beers.

    From my side, I’d welcome a return of breweries focusing on optimizing a known recipe through repetition and tinkering, as opposed to concentrating on expensive, one-off, experiential beers that usually work better in theory than in practice.
