That sounds delicious to me! Different strokes...

I will say, not sure how that profile jives with the double daisy cutter profile. Seems like it will be a completely different beer, just with the "double daisy" branding.

What burb? I'll be heading directly from HA to More tomorrow evening, can mule it there for you if you want

I liked Double Riwaka from HF but also wasn’t totally blown away. And if Hill Farm can’t blow you away with a hop...

Don't get me wrong, I very much enjoy the piney, earthy flavors in my IPAs (Nelson may be my current favorite hop actually) and HF's Single Hop Riwaka Pale Ale is solid, but I couldn't quite in line with the 'spicey' part.

I too am curious how the Double Daisy Riwaka will be, and plan on grabbing a 4 pack today.

Line over a block long wrapping to the next street for the Double Daisy Cutter / Keeping Together release.

Looks to be a 30 minute wait. Neck beards unite!

I drove by about an hour after you posted this and still about 20 people in line. I left. I’ll try again!

Good question. To add, as a fan of GDDC but not a big fan of DDC, where do you rate it between the three (I won’t count Fully Saturated as I feel that’s a different beer) on that spectrum?

Untappd pictures are showing it was as a total haze bomb which is different than previous DDC & Galactic DDC.

Yes, it is definitely a haze DDC variant. That being said, I enjoyed this quite a bit. I've not had Riwaka hops before so nothing to compare against. I was getting grapefruit but not a sharp grapefruit other hops might elicit (to me anyway). Restrained grapefruit, in all the best way which might not make any sense. I prefer my IPAs on the drier side and this ticks that box, which is not always easy to find for hazes. A very good beer imo.

Yeah, today was the only day I could get up there and I was not prepared for this kind of wait. I figured with online orders it'd move quickly, but someone said 30-40 min when I showed up. My kids can keep themselves occupied for 10-15 min in the car, but once it hits that point they start fiddling with the buttons and switches and whatnot.

On the plus side, I wound up going to Dovetail instead. On the down side, I have a massive beer order at HA that I won't be able to pick up.

It sold out within a few hours of availability at 11AM.

I bought purchasing with the thought it would be a perhaps sweeter fuller Daisy Cutter, but this is sippy cup sweet, like tang with double the spoonfuls of mixture, or a mouthful of orange tic tacs with every sip.

If you are a fan of a very sweet Old Beezer sugar straw sweet pour, with slight dryness, you may like this. Unfortunately, this is not a great style for my palate, and it's not a beer I would seek out again.

I will drink the rest, but would cash in for most other Half Acre offerings, and definitely would have picked up another bottle of Keeping Together's latest release at the same price point over this four pack. When I saw the long line yesterday, I feared this is what the beer would turn out to be. Will stick with the standards until I can sample at the taproom.

Just a difference of opinion - I enjoyed this one overall. The earthiness and dankness from the hop comes through well on the nose and the taste. I agree it’s a little sweet on the end but it’s definitely not in the realm of some (hop butcher etc).

I’m in love with this DDC Riwaka. Up there with Second Setting for me as my favorite hazy from Half Acre. Almost no bitterness. I wouldn’t say it’s sweet, just has next to no initially bite of lingering bitterness. And the expression of hops is insanely well done. Especially as it warms up, the empty glass smelled like dank fruit Salad
