I still don’t understand why they’re not saying what the limit is ahead of time. Based on F5 turnout? I really hope Montmorency is an LC beer.

feel like they would have sold it to LC already if it was going to be allocated. Dont think it will be.

Since there’s no sign of Montmorency being allocated to LC at all I’d be shocked if the limit is higher than 1pp on that one

was thinking 2 max, only because it’s a 375mL but 1pp is definitely a possibility.

Maybe I missed it but I dont see in the description where Montmorency is DB unless you are counting the Foedre.

@Jinx989 From the blog post, Cory references a year in Missouri oak foedre, and then another year in freshly emptied Port barrels. Not sure if that counts as DB or not? Either way, they both sound fantastic, and am really hoping to score 1 each!

Looks like We Are You is 2 pp but nothing listed for Montmorency. They added proxy/no proxy listings for each too

looks like they are waiting on an inventory count before stating limits on Montmorency.

Assuming that means the limits will be very high since they’re still working through the inventory count

my original thought was “there’ll be an ass ton of this.” but after reading the description for this blend (the port barrels primarily), i would guess that this is going to be quite limited. at the same time, fuck me if i can guess what sells and what sits. BdC is absolutely incredible and has been sitting with no limits.

I think more people will be upset as now more people know exactly when the release is. Before there were a ton of people that missed out just because they weren't next to a computer or on their phone. Maybe this release there is more beer and that could help, but long term I don't think it helps with the complainers.

I agree completely that announcing the time only makes it worse for people to bitch about it. other breweries have done their releases with pre-announced times and the same thing happens, instant sellout, instant butthurt from people who didnt get one.

was just about to add this comment to the conversation. part of it being that you are never going to be able to make everyone happy. what works for some doesn’t for others. my guess is that people who can’t get away for normal releases at the brewery (and most certainly the out-of-staters) are digging the online sales while others would rather line up. also, people just like to bitch.

I kind of liked the random social media announcements for releases, but we'll give this a go today and see how it works.

As for lining up, I think those days are gone for the foreseeable future.

What about the idea of, it’s okay to not get every single bottle that a brewery releases? You win some, you lose some. That’s the way it goes.

You guys are all right and I totally agree, they’ll always be someone complaining about something in this scene.

I’ll add, my fomo meter has dropped precipitously over the years. I used to be bummed missing releases, but that goes away quite quickly nowadays. I’m probably just “old” in a young person’s game.
