My boss told me that I have to go into the office for the first time in 3 months to pick up a laptop, and my first thought is I'm picking up that laptop and heading straight to OH.

Confusing request from boss. I mean even if you’ve been totally blagging it on your phone for the last two months (slack has really shone in this regard during covid) - why is it now that he/she insists you need a laptop

I and many others been using VPN to connect to databases that aren't normally accessible outside of network. Our IT department decided this was a security risk, so big big boss had to buy 30 laptops for us.

 

Do you call when outside the office, tell your make, model, & color and pop the truck for contactless pick up?

 

This and the underappreciated realities the F&B industry creates. I work from home via remote desktop terrified something will go wrong and I'll have to visit the office and fix my desktop PC in the big Manhattan building. Truth is with nobody there it will be fine but even getting there is a task.

 

They have been doing them like every other week it seems or something like that, would be cool since I will be heading in. I will settle for some Centre though
