Have a good Friday. Finally got my unemployment/pandemic relief going, they deposited 5 weeks worth of it yesterday into my checking account. They made me re-apply for it to make it a claim strictly related to the CARES act 4 days ago. They initially sent me a notice saying I would have to re-certify again from the previous claim, but I sent them a stern protest letter and I guess that settled things? I'm happy about it. Time for some more gaming today, and I can pay off a shit ton of bills now ASAP. Was feeling like a long marathon of Car Mechanic Sim and Cities: Skylines today.

Anchorage Pack Call. Fantastic NEIPA. Great fluffy head retention/foamy lacing. Aromas and flavors of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/zest, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine hops; with moderate wheat, white bread dough, light toasted malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; very creamy/bready/grainy malts, some sticky hops, and light resins/rinds in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lingering bitter dryness; no hop astringency. Super smooth/soft, minimal warming 6.4%, or lingering hop burn after the finish. Fantastic Cascade, Motueka and Waimea profile. Extremely vibrant, juicy, an fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice piloowly wheat/oat/malt backbone. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. Right on par with the rest of their NEIPAs as expected.

Here's an album I haven't listened to for a while.

Finished up work, time for breakfast beer. Courtesy @jkblr comes Fantasmo from Three Floyds. A nice little lager, that doesn't really stand out from the crowd.

Arclight Soursmith Pear. Fantastic. Solid head retention/no lacing. Aromas and flavors of big juicy/tart/tangy pears, fruit peel, sour lemon, lime, peach, plum, pineapple, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, and grass; with moderate honey, wheat, white bread dough malt sweetness; light oaken vanilla, leather, musty/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light Brett spiciness on the finish. Medium-plus carbonation and medium-full body; balanced creamy/grainy wheat, lactic acid, fruit tang, and light slick/tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing acidic/tangy dryness; no puckering sourness. Dangerously smooth, not overly lactic, minimal warming 8.5%. Fantastic balance of big juicy pears and Brett?bacteria complexity; with a nice sized malt backbone against acidity, and solid oak foeder presence. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. My least favorite of the series, but still outstanding! 4.25

First of many pours for the Pilsner tasting, scheduled over the next two days. If you have a pilsner offering, or can stop this weekend to pick up a new beer or one you have enjoyed over time, please stop by this thread and tell us what you enjoyed.

A solid pilsner from a sadly closed Argus Brewery, a victim of the COVID 19 environment. Support your local brewery so you don't lose the pours you love.

    Na Zdrowie!!!

X-post to the Pilsner tasting today-tomorrow.
Look familiar? Upslope's fantastic spin on a light German Pilsner. Clean, bready, snappy, with enough bite from Loral Hops to appeal to an ale drinker/

Having fun in Car Mechanic Simulator. Got another 2 jobs and a few thousand dollars pretty quick. Transmission and engine jobs pay exceptionally well.

Castle Island Bohemian Shine. Very good Czech Pilsner. Solid head retention/minimal lacing. Aromas and flavors of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Some fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Moderate herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and fairly crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light lingering resins and increasing dryness, no hop astringency. Very clean lager flavors, minimal fruity/yeasty notes. Very flavorful/refreshing, not watery for 4.9%. Perfectly balanced clean pils malt showcase and earthy Czech Saaz hops. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. Very well made for the style!

Decided not to walk home, and am waiting for the first bus. Had a Boundary Bay Cedar Dust IPA (one of my go-to's that's always in my fridge) and a can of the always tasty Johnny Utah by Georgetown. Niiiice!
