To begin, I’m going to define a “value beer” as a good beer that you can enjoy fairly frequently without breaking the bank; the ones that you wouldn’t think twice about buying because of price. This probably means different things to different people, but I want to include all comers.

I have a fair amount of difficulty finding staple beers that are cheap because I tend to like sours and some of the richer stouts, both of which usually come in at a higher price point. There are plenty of value IPAs out there, but I just don’t enjoy IPAs very much(I really wish I did enjoy them more!). I also tend to prefer trying new beers to drinking beers I’ve already had, so I’m looking to see what everyone likes for their value beers to see if I can expand my horizons.

I think my top 2 are Founders Breakfast Stout (can usually get for about $2.50 per bottle) and Left Hand Milk Stout (I think this runs about $1.66 a bottle.

What are your value beers, BA?

Almost anything from Sierra Nevada. Their price point is great and the beer is great. They are hard to beat when it comes to pricing, least in AZ. I want to say its like $1.20 a bottle for Pale Ale when you get a 12 pack.
    Cheers

I really don’t drink enough beer to really worry about the price, don’t mean that to be elitist it’s not how I intend it. But if I drink 5-6 beers a week it’s a lot. I bet the average is only 3-4 unless I’m grilling out. So I don’t drink much more than $15 a week on beer, and most times probably half that.

Personally a good value 6-pack if I'm drinking with friends and don't want a Heineken or MGD that day, I'll go for a Dogfish Head 90 Minute or a Weyerbacher Merry Monks. 90 Minute is typically $15 for a 6-pack and Merry Monks is usually around $11 which is a steal given both of these brews sit around 9% ABV. Doesnt matter if you're going for alcohol or flavor. Both have got you covered.

Value depends on the eye of the consumer.
For me, it's Lags, Oskar Blues, and some Crooked Stave products.
    Oh, and Bitburger.

Lagunitus, for me, has some delicious beers all for around $10-15. Cigar City's IPA's are reasonably priced as are Founders' regular shelf beers. Despite the quality being not near the same as before, I've been drinking a lot of Alpine.

Cigar city just became reasonably available in NJ not too long ago. Might have to give them a shot. I remember Jai Alai was all the fuss when I first got into craft, but I couldn’t find it anywhere then.

A whole bunch of this. Considering I'm getting conditioned to $20 4 pint packs, something like Alaskan's SMaSH Galaxy is considered a "value" beer to me at $10 but then something like Rainier in 6 pint packs is also considered value to me too at $6. It's all subjective.

Same here. Jai Alai is $10/6pk and is usually pretty fresh. Hard to pass that up when I can drink those on Saturday while out in the yard.

One of the local supermarkets often put Founders Breakfast Stout on the mix your own 6 pack shelf for $11. Back in the days when I went to the store that was a hard bargain to pass up. Kinda miss those days when going to the store wasn't so angst ridden.
Another I think of as a good value Founders Dirty Bastard.

As @AZBeerDude72 stated almost anything from Sierra Nevada. I would add any year round beer from Brooklyn. Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout is a great value at $11.99 a 6 pack.

Local brewery by me canned a really solid 11% imperial stout and sold the six pack for 9.99. Pound for pound probably the best bang for the buck, for flavor and buzz!

My budget go-to is a 4pk of 500ml cans of Köstritzer for $6.49.

Good, rich, high abv stouts are generally hard to find at a reasonable price point. Ballast Point's Victory at Sea checked all those boxes for me at roughly $2.50/bottle. Haven't seen it around as much lately.

Wow, FBS at $11 for 6 is a steal. And the best part is that it ages well. I bought a bunch like 9 years ago and buried them somewhere. Ended up having plenty of aged bottles over the next few years that were fantastic.

There are some of what I'd consider "value" sour/wilds available in NJ if you can find them. Still not cheap, but affordable enough to make them regulars for me.

Plan Bee Barn Beer is around 7-8 bucks for a 375ml. And I just started getting Hermit Thrush Brattlebeer same price for a 16oz. can.

We also have available Koenig Pilsner and Radeberger for the same deal. All quality brews, and it's nice to mix it up now and again .
