In fairness, if its not a formal agreement, could they not alert the beverage commission or whatever it is in NY state, as muling and reselling at retail technically is illegal correct? I mean I thought it was anyway, and if so i assume subject to fine and potential loss of liquor license, but honestly I do not actually know (nor do I know if such a commission would bother enforcing meaningfully, esp with COVID). I guess I am just wondering if allowing for muling like this so openly is really THAT much different from a contractual reseller agreement...Other Half at this point is well aware, and if they could so readily stop it and are not, is it in practice really any different than a formal contract? Heck OH and EQ both, could post on Instagram right now, "WE DO NOT SUPPORT LRB AND IF YOU SEE OUR PRODUCT THERE PLEASE ALERT US AS THEY ARE NOT PERMITTED TO MAKE SUCH SALES." Or something in that vein. Just saying.

 

I don't about others I usually break my glassware after having a few strong tallboys...

All you really need is a stem to keep your body heat away, and wide enough opening to put your nose in while sipping. Dollar store stemware work just as good as anything fancy. I watched some doc years ago on the Wright Brothers, their wind tunnel made of wood and glass was something like 90% as effective as what Boeing has today. I think all this crap is logarithmic, you can do lot with a little effort after that your returns diminish quickly. I know my palate isn't supersonic so I can roll with anything that lets me smell it as I drink it.

 

From what I've heard, Lake Ronkonkoma gets OH the night before release and are no longer price gouging cans now that they have an account with OH. Apparently theyre not allowed to sell cans for more than $5.50.

 

Well that's a pretty bad look for OH then. Makes me reconsider if I want to head back there pre-July 4th to stock up. Just so classless to work with people like that if you are that successful.

 

Just saw Cam commented on their bullshit “my account got hacked” Instagram post so it sounds like OH is aware.

Brother-in-law bought a few Dream Fluctuation for $8/can so maybe they are not gouging on OH but still doing it on other breweries

Absolutely disgusting. Other Half should be ashamed. Let's not sugar coat it, they know full well who they're dealing with, and continue to actively do business with them. I'm definitely done.

 

Just like the last time they had to apologize for racism. They made some Mad Libs “apology” on the InstaStory so it would get swept under the rug in 24 hours and then everyone could forget what had happened. And, when they were getting ripped for what they posted they either created a bunch of fake accounts or got their friends to post how great of a store they had and how great of people they are (on IG and google). I won’t even mention the beer they were illegally selling at a big upcharge.

 

Just to confirm that EQ doesn't distribute to LR.

Several Long Island breweries have also confirmed they are pulling their products from their shelves. Equilibrium staff have responded stating: "EQ does not distribute or sell to to Lake Ronkonkoma Beverage and never will. We have zero interest in doing business with anyone who is spewing hate.”
