I'm not sure this is the place to post this, but I'll try it anyway. I was looking up Ommegang's Idyll Days Pilsner, which has a score of 78. Yet the average is 4.27. Granted, there are only six ratings. Has anyone run across a similar situation? Thanks.

Yeah that’s weird. Based on the scores I’d expect that beer to have a score of 85 (based strictly on a percentage score out of 5.0). Maybe the score is weighted somehow? I generally just look at the review scorings out of 5.0 so not sure how that correlates to the score out of 100.

Also, why is it listed as a euro pale lager?

Irrelevant to the thread, but the brewer lists it as a "Belgian-style pilsner" and Belgium is in Europe and a Pilsner is a lager. Whoever added it probably thought "European Pale Lager" was the best fit, and they're not necessarily wrong.

Makes sense. I saw the word pilsner in the name, didn't know anything else about it. Thanks.

Yeah the Ommegang beer is similar to Allagash’s Trupenny which uses a Belgian saison yeast. I found both delicious by the way. That hybrid works really well.
